First and foremost, I want to say how much I appreciate the kitchen at this place! Those guys KILLED it, and served some phenomenal food! Keep doing what you are doing! However, on the service side, this was literally the worst service we have had at any restaurant. Please keep in mind, there were only 6 tables being served, with 2 waitresses, a host, and a manager, when we arrived. Our silverware at our pre-set table wasn't complete. When our appetizer arrived, we weren't given plates. We had to wave down the waitress, after 10 minutes of starring at our appetizer, to ask for plates. We weren't being checked on, she we literally had to holler at her as she went by. She then dumped the plates and left. It took 40 minutes before we were even asked what entrees we wanted to order. We couldn't place any order before that, because our table wasnt being checked on. After I ordered my steak, the waitress immediately walked away without even asking how i wanted it cooked. She also didn't ask what size of steak my wife wanted. The kitchen caught how she didnt ask what size of steak, and had to return to our table to confirm. As she was about to walk away, I was THEN able to request how i wanted the steak cooked. When the food came, my order was 100% wrong. The closest thing to being correct on the plate was that there was "a steak", but not even the right cut. Not to mention, I ordered Medium-Rare, and it was Medium-Well. NONE of the sides were correct (again, not blaming the kitchen, b/c they just cook what they are told to cook). 15 minutes AFTER our food was delivered, our waitress (Bella), still had not checked back on us to see how our food was. However, the manager had walked over to check on tables and refill waters. HE was the one we had to tell about the plate not being right. Also, by that point, we had been there for 1 hour and 15 minutes, and he was the 1st to refill our waters. The manager at least said they would make the plate right, and re-do my order. Once the plate arrived, it was delicious! After the entrees, my wife ordered a dessert. She order a cherry cheesecake flavored dessert, and was then given a raspberry flavored dessert. Apparently, the cheesecake was from an old menu, and wasnt even offered, anymore. Literally every course got jacked up, in some way. We just asked for our check at this point so we could just leave. While paying, the manager stepped back over to check on us, and to refill our water glasses. That was the SECOND time our water glasses were filled, the entire time we were there. And we were there for a total of 2 hours.

Kitchen... GREAT JOB! Everything else needs...

Three of us stopped in on a sleepy Tuesday evening. A very energetic Dovie met us as the front to seat us and led us back to a very cozy corner of the restaurant. We had happened upon a culinary paradise and hadn't yet realized it. Before I knew it, I found myself with the most amazing margarita, I have had yet, in my life. A strawberry jalapeno margarita was breaking down any reservations that could've lurked in the back of my mind for this restaurant. The lobster bisque was something that you could only find on either coast of the United States yet here it is nestled in Springfield Illinois. A burger and a cubano greeted my girlfriend and I. The burger was legitimately one of the better burgers I've had in my life and the cubano was very comparable to an authentic Cuban sandwich yet with its' own unique flavor. We ended up having an amazing meal, an amazing time with the staff, and accidentally stumbled upon the greatest restaurant that Springfield has to offer. i would highly recommend Joseph's to anyone looking for a...

Whether you're a local or coming from out of town, THIS is the high quality/amazing flavor food you want to eat and is rare to find in Springfield Illinois. We first encountered Joseph when he had his small lunch shop downtown Springfield and he was kind enough to close down his place and make a private dinner for my birthday that was a custom design flavor profile that blew me away. His training at the Culinary Institute in Napa Valley shows in not only the taste and quality of food but the presentation in which he personally takes time to master.

If you ever go here try and reserve one of the chef's tables sitting up front watching them make the food and Joseph himself will even talk with you while preparing and overseeing dishes coming out. It's an amazing story and I'm so glad he finally has a large brick and mortar restaurant that showcases the cuisine of his palate.

Seriously, forget Nick and Nino's and go try one of their unique Tapas or even his Truffled Risotto topped with seared Scallops. You...

Sat at the Chef's Table so we could watch the kitchen in action. First time taking the teens. We were celebrating a birthday for the teen who wants to be a chef someday. Well worth the price - Pulled Pork Pop Tarts and White Sausage Flatbread were an excellent start. Wife had the Prawns stuffed with Crabmeat, I the Deconstructed Beef Wellington. Boys went for the Kobe Burgers. Everyone was greatly pleased. Add the Homemade Doughnuts, Skillet Cookie, Cheesecake and a Creme Brulee for desserts. The only question remaining will be when to make our next return. An extra bonus was that both Joseph and Chef JoJo took the time to speak to the star-struck birthday boy.

Dining at Joseph’s is the best of all worlds. It is fine cuisine in an atmosphere that feels like home! Come as you are, be as you are, It’s a wonderful place to sit with someone you love, to share a great meal with friends, or to entertain business guests. Joseph’s unique dining experience will not disappoint. The owners are very closely involved. The chef takes his job seriously and is very good at his job. And the employees offer top notch service. The wine list offers wonderful pairings at different price points. And the cocktail list has a multitude of offerings, standard and unique. Definitely the best fine dining experience in Central Illinois

We tried this place on a lark. We are first timers, and it was very nice! We should have eaten here before the pandemic and lockdowns! Anyways, we ordered some cocktails, which were very nice and well prepared. For our entrees, we ordered the New Years resolution option, which was a Mediterranean style grilled chicken with vegetables and couscous; and the 16 oz New York strip. The steak was very flavorful and while I'm sure the filet option is good, this strip was incredible. The chicken resolution entree was also very flavorful and tasted fresh, as it must have been spiced well. We will definitely be back, and we wished we had dined sooner. Thanks!
