This place is god awful. They used to be fantastic, but the last two times we've ordered food it has been old, tough and all around gross, ESPECIALLY the chicken. Tonight a man who answered the phone promised us that the chicken is always dropped fresh. It was anything but fresh. It, yet again, was tough, chewy and obviously old. We were also told the large cashew chicken came with an egg roll. When we got our order they had completely forgotten the egg roll. The worst part is when my husband called in and politely informed that same man that the egg roll was forgotten, that man was nothing short of rude and nasty. I can honestly say we've never had someone in a professional setting be so mean, snide and condescending towards us, especially when the mess up was on THEIR part. In the end, Don't bother wasting your hard earned money here, there are so many better Chinese food restaurants to choose from locally that serves fresh food and have reasonable costumer service. We will never give new oriental another penny and you...
Read moreReally mixed feelings here. Nice, clean place. The gentleman who waited on us was very pleasant.
I explained that I was told that his restaurant had Chow Mein, which, for me has been hard to find in Springfield, MO. He said he had good vegetable chow mein and I asked if his was served with crispy noodles. He assured me that that's what I would get. We both ordered Pork Chow Mein with fried rice.
Well. We got plates of delicious chow mein vegetables in a flavorful light sauce but, no crispy stir fried noodles. What? He did give us each a small bowl of, what looked and tasted like those crispy fried onions which grocery stores carry. Huh?
Well, bottom line.. The chow mein vegetables and sauce were great but, no noodles?
Fairly far from where we live so I don't think we will purposely drive across town for no-noodle...
Read moreOrdered takeout of beef lo mein, chicken fried rice, and cashew chicken. I appreciate the fact that the sauce comes as a side to the chicken so it's not all soggy when we get home. My kids said the chicken was very good. But the lo mein noodles were not authentic and it tastes like they literally threw some oyster sauce on the noodles, no other cooking involved. The chicken fried rice was not very flavorful so I appreciate the fact that it was chocked full of onions and peas and carrots to compensate for the flavor. The chicken in the rice was very soft and juicy which I appreciate but I have a feeling it was made with flour which is a) not normal and b) going to make me incredibly sick if it's true because I'm allergic to wheat flour.
Changed to 2 stars because I...
