Zubs Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Springville

Zubs has been a favorite place of mine since I was a little kid. Unfortunately, my opinion about them has changed drastically. About a year and a half ago, we had the WORST experience. The ignorant and belligerent manager refused to correct our incorrect order and escalated a minor issue into a giant issue then threatened to call the cops on my husband because he insisted the error be corrected (it's a long story). Fortunately, Rena, the owner was helpful and offered her apologies and to try and make things right. Fast forward to tonight.... We decided to give them another shot and are yet again thoroughly disappointed. This might just be the final straw for me. We had a bigger order as we ordered for our family of 5. For the most part things were ok..... except for the simplest request. I'm struggling to understand how one can get an order for Ham and Cheese with Mayo only, wrong. It's not that difficult. I understand the toppings can be picked off but there's just something about hot, soggy lettuce and tomatoes, smothered in mustard that is just gross. Maybe I'm just picky? Regardless, if it's ordered that way, make an effort to see that it is made as requested. It's NOT a difficult request. It'll save you toppings and me the frustration. Unfortunately, they were closed by the time we got home and realized it was wrong. I can totally understand that mistakes are made and people are human but unfortunately, we have had more wrong orders...

I am currently sitting waiting for my food. Been here over an hour. Giving 1 star. This food had better be amazing. Will update if it ever comes.

Update: bumped up to 3 stars. The food finally came after close to an hour and a half. No updates on our order were given the entire time, so we didn't know if they had just forgotten our order. There were lots of people that came in after us and got out with their food long before us. No offers for extras or future discounts for the long wait. I get it if a place is understaffed and things are busy, but there was no expectation given up front that there would be any sort of wait. Overall very unimpressed with the service.

However, I will give them 3 stars because the food was great when it finally came. I got the New Yorker and my wife got the Steak and Stuff. Both were delicious. The cheese sticks were also great.

I might give them another shot in the future. If the service is better I'll bump the review...

I've been going to Zubs for over 20 years now. Given the state of the economy and the pain it's caused on small business I feel that Zubs is trying to do their best. However, with the significant rise in prices and the quality of the sandwich it's made me change my view of them. It was known for its quality and large portions at a very reasonable price, but has gone down hill over the last 2 years or so. So much so that I rarely go anymore and am continually disappointed with the small portions of ingredients and overall quality and the outrageous price hike. I rated them a 3 star because I don't want to affect their overall rating but want to see them go back to their core business model that made them so good to begin with. Given the state of the economy that may be hard to do. If you are okay paying over $20 for a sandwich to add more ingredients than they are still...
