Library is one of my FAVORITE Springville spots year round for the whole family, especially kids! Beautiful, clean space with lots of light, seating, and gorgeous fixtures above Weekly events like Story time (puppets, singing, pretend play, crafts) Tech! Reserve & renew books/videos/kits online. Check out at a kiosk and renew items. Return books on a conveyor belt. Summer Food Truck Rally after hours, then eat at the beautiful grounds and walk the kids to the playground. Kid Section! Light tables or tablets or puzzles with rotating activities, pretend play section, legos and magnet-tiles for building, comfy seats and even a Spanish sub-section. Summer kid events! Dinosaur day, petting zoos, Harry Potter balls, Star Wars Days, etc Check out their Kits which come in a bag with kid-friendly books and an activity on their favorite subjects Discovery Kits! Sewing, ukelele, telescope, chess, board games, bird watching and bugs, etc. Expertly curated shelves with recommendations for new books and relevant subjects in every section so you can “grab and go”. Request a book they don’t have online or at the front desk. Mine which are mostly for picture books are approved and checked out to me within 3wks. Good selection of tv series and feature films (love that the kid movies are in the children’s section so they don’t accidentally stumble on scary stuff, plus they’ve got entire collections of Bill Nye, Disney classics, Baby Sign Language, PBS shows, etc.)- you can check out 10 at a time! If you’re a homeschool mom or college student in need of a good study place, their private rooms are super clean and useful for quiet time We LOVE the library, and we think...
Read moreSpringville Library is a very nice and we'll maintained space for all ages.
There is ample comfortable seating, which is a big plus for a library. Great for small groups to meet quietly, get some work done, read it socialize. Another big feature is the floor-to-ceiling windows which bring in a ton of natural light, and the interior design, with glass-walled computer and meeting rooms, allows the light to carry through the whole structure.
There are computers in several places, including a quiet computer lab (one of the glass-walled rooms). I have to say, the internet (desktop) and wifi speeds are both pretty slow, and there weren't very many people using computers this morning.
While lacking the big "pop" kids play attraction, there is a large book collection, small play spaces, and some computers for kid use.
The teen space is somewhat smaller, in comparison to the other areas of the library. If you have a teen, you know they can be kinda loud, and like to have their "own space", to some degree.
I live the outdoor terrace along the Hobble Creek. It is a wonderful place to sit outside and read or socialize. There is a nice bridge across the Creek to a small park (which needs some improvements), where you can walk down to the water.
The Springville Library is a great place, among the best assets...
