TL;DR- Almost non-existant communication in-office and with me. Also Drew was the worst and most unprofessional therapist I've talked with. Please don't see him, there are a lot of better options.
When I first came here a couple years ago I had mostly good experiences, however it doesn't cancel out the horrible experiences I've had recently. I went in for something very simple and straightforward: I just needed a new prescription for a previously diagnosed condition. The doctor was nice and asked plenty of questions and she suggested I see their "in-house" therapist. Money's tight so I double (and triple) checked how much it would cost and was assured it would cost the same as a regular Dr visit. (Spoiler alert: it is a LOT more expensive). After seeing Drew (their "therapist") not only was I not any closer to getting the problem resolved, I felt concerned for his other patients. He said multiple concerning things to me that, if I were in some kind of mental health crisis, would be devastating to hear (and they weren't things I needed to hear/weren't relevant to my care). Not only that, but I felt talked down to multiple times and I felt like we got nowhere. What he said at the end was he would talk with the Psychologist and then talk with my doctor to get me a prescription and I'd hear back within a week. I never heard back from anyone. A couple weeks go by, so I call the Dr office and am informed that she hasn't heard from him at all and she'll get in contact with him. She called back within the week and had me do an ADHD questionnaire. I was told that apparently I was wrong and ADHD hasn't been a problem according to the questionnaire. That's the entire reason why I'd started this whole process! Of course it's a problem and impacting my life. A month after my initial "therapist" appointment I go in for a follow up with him and that's when I'm told the cost for the visit would be significantly more than I was told. (Which took a lot of talking with the receptionist and her calling different people to actually get a straightforward answer on the cost.) I decided it wouldn't be helpful for me to see the therapist and talk about nothing (I was supposed to have started some kind of medication by then and discuss how it was going.) The receptionist saw on my records that the doctor and therapist still hadn't discussed things yet.(The communication had been just horrible between them AND with me. I'm just glad I wasn't in some kind of Crisis with how poorly this whole thing had been handled.) Anyway, Since I was late for my appointment and still talking with the receptionist, Drew came upstairs to see if I was coming down. I asked what his plan was for the appointment (thinking maybe he had other avenues to explore than just the medicine route) but his response was no, he just kind of "lets his patients guide the appointment each time". I think for a regular therapy appointment that's fine, but I'm coming to get direction on how to manage my ADHD. I needed guidance from a professional. And the way he talked with me felt condescending and unprofessional. I asked when he would talk with my doctor and I might hear back and his response: "I don't have a crystal ball. I don't know how things will go." I know it might not be exact times like "tomorrow at 2:17pm", but it's completely reasonable to expect something like "by the end of next week I'll call to update you". And saying "I can't predict the future" and "I can't read people's minds" (direct quotes) is a completely unprofessional response to asking for just a...
Read moreI would give this place negative -5 stars if possible. Ive never had such an aweful experience. I went to get an ingrown toenail fixed. The nurse was a nice mexican lady she was so kind and listen to me. However it wasn't the same with the doctor. I got Dr. Penrod.. I didn't like him from the beginning. I was ready for him to fix my toe, he took out his little light to take a look and that was all he did. Just looked at it, he didn't touch the swollen part or anything. This was one thing that frustrated me he didn't do anything which seemed like he had no intention too. I was surprised. He told me he would put me on an antibiotic and I should reschedule my appointment for the surgery. This really ticked me off. I came down to have my toe fixed not to have him just put me on an antibiotic that Will not help me in the end. After asking why he couldn't do it he came up with excuses. The first was that he was the only doctor in staff (this is when I felt he didn't care about me as a patient), the second was there were other patients waiting (this was understandable) I asked if I could wait till after for him to do the surgery since he was more concerned about the other patients....then the real reason can out to why he didn't want to do it. The doctor said it was getting too late for him to perform it....I was floored. Never in my life have I heard of a doctor who was so lazy and didn't care about his patients. IF I WAS A DOCTOR I WOULD GO ABOVE AND BEYOND, EVEN STAY LONGER IF NEEDED, UNLIKE THIS MAN DID. I am very displeased in him and how he conducts himself. Not professional at all. I'm sure Dr Taylor would have been more willing than the idiot I got. I also went to ask for a refund since they didn't do anything for me, and I was rejected. This frustrates me because if they couldn't do the surgery that evening why did you take my money and bring me back? I am shocked, and I will never go to this clinic again TAKE MY ADVICE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC. YOU ARE BETTER OFF SOMEWHERE ELSE. I'm disappointed in the owner, hope you read this and are aware....but you probably don't care...
Read moreWe have been going to this office for a few years and have always been treated well by the doctors which is why we gave them 2 stars. But this weekend we were served court papers over a $20 check that didn't clear our bank almost a year ago. We were never informed about this (we would have happily fixed the problem). We have been to their office many times over the last year without anything being said to us. In fact I actually asked the last time I was there if we owed anything and was told no. After contacting their horrible collections agency (Cherrington Firm) we were told we owed over $500 for a $20 check. I called Canyon View and asked why they never informed us of the check, didn't flag our account or anything else and they said they don't know when that happens. If a check doesn't clear the bank just sends it directly to the collections agency. How is that a good idea to be in the dark when money is owed? I could have been writing check after check that wouldn't clear and they would keep letting me (I didn't do that but I am trying to explain why it's important for them to know and let the patient know as well). Something that could have easily been fixed long ago cost us way too much money. We also remembered after this incident that over 17 years ago we stopped going to their offices as they double billed our insurance and we ended up having to pay an additional $100. We thought we would give them another chance and as sad as I am to leave the doctors in their practice we cannot go to an office like this. Work with your patient more and seriously stop working with Cherrington Firm. They have an F with the Better Business Bureau for a reason. They do anything they can to suck the life out of people without any compassion...
