I needed good food from a casual, low stress restaurant. La Casita was delightful. Parking was convenient in their lot. I was quickly seated regardless of the busy lobby area where customers can also pay their bill. About half the he tables were full at 2pm. They served warm homemade tortilla chips with fresh salsa while I reviewed the menu. Chips were some of the best. Not too thick, thin or greasy. The salsa was also excellent. Made with fresh diced tomatoes and fresh onions. Not too spicy. The chips were perfect for scooping up large quantities of their fresh salsa. I ate the full bowl along with my meal. I ordered the shredded beef and cheese burrito and a Diet Coke (served from the their fountain although Pepsi products make up the majority of their soda selection). Served in a nice large glass with ample ice and a prompt free refill. The meal was delicious. I'm not a foodie or even known at La Casita, I'm just getting a little older and enjoy good food. The burrito was packed with tender shredded beef, ample cheese and I opted for the refried beans instead of rice. The salad was simple but good; fresh lettuce, diced tomatoes and an Italian type dressing. I ate every bite and thoroughly enjoyed it. The refried beans topped with melted cheese made a great bean dip for my remaining chips while adding a nice complimentary flavor to my burrito. This is obviously a popular local restaurant as there were a lot of greetings and conversation. Yet, it was still comfortable for an outsider like myself. I definitely recommend the lunch specials before 2:30 pm, the relaxing atmosphere, pleasant staff and in my opinion, delicious and fresh food. A rare meal worthy of the time it takes to write detailed observations and post pics.

I don’t know what happened… I took my first bite and was whisked away into a delicious land where self control doesn’t exist… before I knew it I had finished my entire plate. I had a horchata, one chicken enchilada that was smothered in verde sauce/cheese, and a side of rice/beans of course. You need to know that they use REAL chicken! It was perfect, not dry or fake feeling, it was legit and delicious. At other Mexican restaurants I end up scraping the chicken out of enchiladas because it just feels fake and gross, but not their chicken! If I hadn’t have been in a food trance, I would have taken a photo for you. This was my first time here and I was a little skeptical because literally everyone I have talked to raves about their food. I didn’t want to go in with high expectations and then be let down…. Needless to say, the whole experience was amazing. The staff/owners were incredible. Please reward your tastebuds and go to La Casita.

Not authentic at all. We ordered the two grilled chicken quesadillas which is a ton of food that we split between 3 people. The chicken was watery and had no spices or any seasoning at all. If you eat here be ready to pour on the salt because it comes out of the kitchen bland as hell with zero seasoning. There were also no grill marks on the tortillas. We had asked for guac on the side and they didn't bring it. It took far too long before they noticed we were ready to order. There's no reason for us to return and I honestly think their people's choice awards are telling about how bad the standards are for people in this area. I lived in SF where there were amazing taquerias everywhere and this was bland beyond anything I've ever had. Where are the spices and seasoning? We went on a Monday at around 7 and had to wait 15 minutes. If you have no experience with great Mexican and love bland watery meat, this is your place!

I visited this place while traveling for work. I normally will ask locals for really good food in a comfortable atmosphere. Once I entered, I was welcomed by the original owner, an older gentleman. As locals left the restaurant he'd yell at them (bye Mexican). They responded in good fun. I sat down and requested my drink. Staff brought my chips & salsa, or what appeared to be salsa. It resembled more of a thick tomato base and chunks, and it tasted sweet to me. Couldn't take another chip to it. Asked if they had anything Spicer or at least with an extra kick. They did not. I ordered my chicken enchiladas, the waitress brought me cooked jalapeño. As they placed my plate in front of me. I looked at it. The entire plate was drowning in white cheese, even the refried beans, the rice had no flavor. I only took about 4 bites of food, way too much cheese. I couldn't even taste the chicken. Paid for food and left. Came in the next day hoping that a different dish would be better. I scanned the menu and saw "Street tacos" and asked what all came on them. Flour Tortilla, meat, cheese, type of dressing. I requested corn tortillas, chicken, cilantro, and onions and grilled jalapeños, rice, and beans with NO CHEESE on them. The waitress brought my dish and the street tacos which ended up being regular-size tortillas, not the small tortillas with really chopped-up meat. I had big chicken chunks. I wasn't able to finish the food, on the count that it was a lot. After being done, I paid for food and left. The staff is friendly and...

After 12 years its time to update things. There's not much that needs changing. As the review has always said -- the restaurant almost never changes. This is the near perfect mix of hole in the wall and classic Americanized Mexican food. It's all comfort. I started coming here in 1978 or 1979 until 1985 when we moved away from Springville. I moved further North and come less often. Each time I come I wonder why I settle for the lesser places in my area. I only came once in the last few years when the place didn't seem as spot on as normal It's rare. Some reviews with only one bad experience should not color whether you should come or not. I've been a regular to semi regular for over 40 years and the place never changes. I think that's a good thing. On my last trip I took my boy whose in his 40's. He has been coming here since he was a toddler and said it was the one place in the valley that's always been the same, or better, for his whole life. I agree. I've been coming with my wife monthly for the last several years. The nacho's are huge and tasty. The crab enchilada had to leave as they work to keep the price down. It's shrimp, now. The chile verde is my favorite. I don't know about the standard burritos and what not. I don't order them. They also make the best margarita in the valley. Despite the archaic liquor laws, they turn out something that tastes like it has Tequila in it and has traditional...
