I have been going to the Pageant for concerts for many years and I have absolutely loved going. After missing Korn this summer at Pointfest, I looked forward to seeing them at the Pageant. We got our tickets, and showed up early. The Halo Bar was at capacity, we were told and got in line to wait with others for over 1 hour. After doors opened at 7 pm we went inside and found that all tables had been removed from the floor. There was no place to sit. As the concert started the place was so full of people and so crowded it was hard to see and to even enjoy the concert. The worst part was that everyone so tight in there, several people after a few drinks decided it was ok to start a moshpit where they stood. They began to spill beer on everyone around them, pushing others to the sides and were continually knocking others backwards. All we wanted to do was to enjoy the show, listen to Korn rock out and sing along. After getting pushed and hit several times, we chose to leave the venue early and end our evening. We missed about 1 hour of the concert. Not everyone is tall, it was hard to see no matter where we stood. Especially when people have arms in the airs, cell phones up taking videos of every single song. I think I watched most of the concert through someone else's phone as they recorded. It was a mess.

This was my first time at this venue- I had no idea what it would be like inside but was pleasantly surprised! It's on the smaller side, not a dive bar size but not a large theater either. The pit area is rather small and fills up very fast. All around the pit is seating, some table tops and some bar tops with stools. There is an upper level that has theater seating. On both levels there are huge bars and I didn't wait at all to get a drink. After driving from KC and getting to the venue at around 8:30, 30 mins before the main band went on, we struggled to find a seat or space to stand in. I would definitely suggest getting there earlier to stake out a good seat or standing space. I managed to find two seats on the right side of the stage on the upper level and aside from the railing, which isn't a problem when standing, the visibility is great. The speaker system sound great as well, loud but not overwhelmingly so. All the staff were helpful and answered all our questions since we had never been there before. All in all it's a really neat venue, I enjoyed being able to sit and still see the band. Just a heads up there is no reentry at least after the show ends, so if you want to get merch don't forget to before you walk out the building.

If this is your first time to the Pageant, please read this! It will be a great help. I wanted the best seats that were available and money was not an issue. I am handicap and wanted a good view of the stage. The seating chart on Ticketmaster's website is very confusing. If you want the best seats, they are "GENERAL ADMISSION" which cost much less than what we paid for the Balcony. These are "NOT STANDING ROOM ONLY" as indicated on the chart. General Admission seats are very comfortable folding chairs around a table with plenty of elbow and leg room. The Balcony seats are cramped and very uncomfortable especially if you are handicap. They share an armrest to the person next to you and if you are in the front row, the hand rail hits your knees. They charge $400-$1000 for Balcony seats and only $50-$80 for General Admission. When I inquired about this discrepancy with the manager, he agreed the seating chart is very confusing. He said that anyone with Balcony tickets can sit in the General Admission. Fortunately we were early enough to find one table still available. It wasn't the best view of the stage but much more comfortable. I felt cheated and disappointed. I paid $400 for $50 seats.

Super irritated with this venue. I arrived an hour before the show I was seeing & had my bag searched. Ok fine no big deal. They proceeded to not let me in cuz of a pocket knife on my key chain which actually contained a scissors, a nail file & a tweezers the knife broke off years ago. They continued to ask me to either pitch it or stash it. Well that wasn’t going to happen seeing as my dead aunt gifted me this pocket knife. I completely agree with their no weapons rule however when you take an Uber to the show there’s nowhere to stash your said weapons. I mean seriously they couldn’t have had a bin where they can hold peoples stuff till the show is over. They offered no compassion, no consideration nothing. They sent another manager over to tell me the same thing that I already very clearly understood. I ended up having to have a friend drive up to get said pocket knife. I mean they aren’t an airport why can’t they offer a place to keep your things until the show is over. & let’s be real a pen or pencil could be used as a weapon. I honestly didn’t even remember that the thing was in my purse. When the issue was finally resolved they proceeded to search my bag again. Once inside the sold out show we were in our seats that were honestly to close for comfort. They are folding chairs. They can’t give people enough room to move their arms, what is that? There has to be a better way to handle both of these things. There was 5 staff members outside handling the entrance line & not one of them came up with any solutions. Why can’t they have lockers available to rent if you accidentally bring in something that’s not allowed. Why can’t they have a standing deal with another local business that has a bin to hold your items if you buy a drink or something from them. I am not asking to solve a world war. I’m asking for customer consideration of busy people who may not have had time to thoroughly read the website or go through their things before going out for the evening? Not everyone can just pitch...

Three positive stars for the atmosphere, bartenders, and cleanliness. Been to the pageant multiple times and was never treated so much like a nuisance at the door. We looked for purse requirements ahead of time as I was traveling 3 hours away and wanted to keep a few reasonable things with me. The guy was rude at the door and I kindly suggested they post the requirements for purses online. He then laughed at me and was cocky when looked at his staff and said, "It is posted ALL over the website!" I kinda froze thinking what to do with my belongings when he told me again rudely, "You can do whatever you want with that purse but it can't come in here." We later found purse requirements under prohibited items. Easy mistake but don't treat your guests like that. We aren't all the criminals that you treated me like. Heads up to visitors, they squished my purse down as flat as they could to make it 12x12 which is the minimum prohibited size of a purse. I understand purse requirements needing to be small for safety and convenience of other guests. I thank you for that. I just simply ask that you post it where it's can be found on the website and if it was already on the website don't treat me badly. You started the night off ruined. Three City blocks walk back to the car to leave my purse unattended in St Louis for 2 hours. Also, I would like to kindly suggest that the numbers on your fold up chairs that we sit in not be velcro. Although I'm afraid to make a criticism around here anymore, they stuck to my shirt all night where I had to eventually take the number off my seat and hold it for the rest of the show, replacing it before we left. Thanks for...

I’m NEVERRR going back to The Pageant again. I’ve gone to so many concerts and never had anybody tell me to leave before I can even walk in the door. We literally got to the metal detector & the bag check nd I had a soda in my hand that I threw away. We go up to the ID girl and I’m 20 so I tell her and she stamps my hand then this man from the metal detector turns around and is like “you said u we’re 21!” I’m confused because I never said that if I was 21 why would I have just told her before she can even see my ID. This man proceeds to dig the cup out the trash after people already been throwing drinks away and is tryna say I was underage drinking that I need to leave. So they call the officer up there pretty much all they can do is give the managers name “Gina” not even the two people who were making an issue over the cup being rude. All I can do is file a complaint and request a refund but we all know Ticketmaster isn’t gonna give a refund. At this point I’m crying because I’m devastated asf that I’m gonna miss Polo G and Scorey on top of that it was my friends birthday. I’m so upset over it because I completely understand them not wanting drunk underage people in there but I was in fact sober, I had a soda that I threw away, and they let me get all the way through the check in process before they even addressed any issue. For that man to dig the cup out of the trash was gross and just ridiculous. Even the officer thought it was messed up but unfortunately they can tell you to leave if they want you to so we had no choice but to leave or we were told we’d be charged for...
