My husband and I live close to Maple Leaf's Roasting location and regularly get beans from there, so when we heard that the owner Alex had taken on this cafe, we knew we had to try it!
Alex's passion for his business and his knowledge of his product is tangible in everything he does, and that includes this cafe. We ordered two flat whites, a latte, a hot chocolate, two breakfast sandwiches, and a cookie during our visit. The coffee was wonderful of course, the kids loved their hot chocolate and cookie (and we loved the little kids corner! Actually gave us adults some down time to chat while they played), and the food was delicious. I appreciate the quality of the ingredients they choose to use (pasture-raised, organic, etc). Will your visit cost you more than going to McDonald's? For sure, but I'm willing to pay more for way better quality.
The location is great, right next to the river. There is plenty of seating inside and out if you stay, and plenty of places to walk if you choose to take your order to go! Improvements have continued to be made to the interior under the new ownership, so I anticipate Maple Leaf Cafe will only get better with time. Worth checking...
Read moreI used to love this cafe and would stop by whenever I had the chance. I went this week with my friend and we ordered iced caramel lattes. When barista handed us our drinks and we tried it we both were getting sugar chunks in our mouth and coffee was also really bitter. We mixed it really well and tried to have a bit more of it but We both went back and asked for more caramel syrup and then the barista told us they were out of caramel syrup. So instead of telling us that at the time we ordered our drinks she just made our drinks and added sugar. Like who does that? If she told us that at the time we ordered we would have opted for different drinks. It’s crazy how they run out of the one most important ingredient for one of their specialty lattes. We really tried to drink the coffee but we couldn’t so we left the cafe and went to a different place to...
Read moreI have never left a review, but after my experience here this morning I wanted to in hopes that the ownership would take note. I was excited to try this spot under new ownership and stopped by with my newborn, and two other children to get a coffee and a treat. The two girls working behind the counter were so disinterested and unpleasant, not even a greeting as we walked in. They were sour and unfriendly as I asked about what drinks and donuts were popular. I almost walked out without ordering, if it weren’t that I promised my children a treat. When I asked how the baristas day was going she said “why?” I plan only said, it seems as if I’m bothering you with so many questions and I’m sorry if you are annoyed!” She replied that the sun was in her eyes or something to that extent. Such a poor experience and I left so disappointed. I will...
