Vintage 53 — Restaurant in St. Charles

I can't wait to go back! These few choice words are about all I could say over and over again after I exited Vintage 53. I am a Terminal Stage 4 Cancer Patient and was just cleared to consume alcohol again. They didn't recommend I drink hard spirits or the beers I was keen on... They recommend that perhaps I try Wines. Something I was extremely out of my element with, would I even fit into a crowd like that? Well let me tell you those fears melted away when I stepped into the door. The whole establishment is clean, organized and very well thought out. The music for me was at a great level as was the HVAC. I instantly met Mario he greeted me as I walked in. He turned out to be the Owner! He was kind and compassionate and not pushy what so ever. I started the conversation right off with my conditions and it didn't even seem to phase Mario. He went threw the menu with me and I decided on a flight with some Chorizo "Poppers" Everything was absolutely amazing , the flight and the poppers. Downtown St.Charles is extremely lucky to have such an establishment that I will be making the commute to come here with my Wife for our date nights from Plainfield! Every one at Vintage 53 please keep up the great work and atmosphere I looked forward to all of my future...

Overall a good place to stop for a glass or two of wine in St Charles before or after dinner. We went on an evening with a live piano player. The music was very loud and wouldn't have facilitated good conversation. I'd suggest checking their music schedule before going for those who find it hard to hear in loud environments. Fortunately, we sat outside and had a very pleasant evening in their sidewalk space.

We tried the cauliflower and meatball small plates. I thought the cauliflower had a really nice, interesting flavor. The meatballs were too soft textured for my taste. Both seemed to be too small a quantity of food for the price.

The service was slow and they seemed understaffed. That said our waitress was kind. I know they're new so I can forgive some growing pains in...

This place is amazing! The owner has put so much love, time and care into it. It shows in every inch of the restaurant from the decor, to the service and food. I was just reading over the one star reviews and couldn't for the life of me understand how someone could rate it that low! Then I clicked on Jose Jamie's profile and saw that 99% of his reviews are one star. Clearly fictitional profile so that he can slander businesses when his crooked business deals go south. It's a shame, I'd love to see small businesses supporting other small businesses. Go see for yourself, I promise you will...
