Bad service, food too pricey, walls cracked, dirty floor, washroom looked like a scen from a horror flick. since there is no greater one would not know that you have to order and pay first. Order was kids burrito, that burrito was the about the size of a roll of quarters, a few pieces of meat beans lettuce. My kid said it was ok. Order kids quesadilla, cheese between two tortillas that kept falling apart, plus had bits of silantro and lettuce, daughter did not like it. Mom had carne asada platter she liked it, i had a sope that sope was so tiny and plain, hard to the bite, dry. Dont recommend it. Kids mom had green chicken enchiladas, they looked more like tacos, she said all she could taste was green tomatoes, Would not recomend them. Kids meal came whit fries or rice and drink. The orchata taste like water downed milk whit a hint of cinnamon. Wait for the food about 3omin. When my son asked what is this, whit burrito in hand we all just broke out laughing like are they for real. Really small place. Parking lot really small. Never ever will i recommend this place to family or friends. Bad service is for not saying order first and then sit. menue only displayed on wall, had to wait extra 10min for tortillas that came included whit the platter. The first time we visited this place was a few years ago, place was in way better shape, they had table menu whit pics. Table service and great food. Wondering...

A 5/5 scale simply does not work for The Jalapeno Grille. A million out of five would be more accurate.

Most impeccable Mexican food in St. Charles with a uniquely refreshing menu with a comforting taste of Mexico and American flair. You immediately walk in to walls decorated with the distinct charm of Mexican and Mexican American history, artwork, and personality.

This family-run restaurant's greatest strength derives from their humble values and origins. You see it in their management, their care, and ultimately, the love behind the food they make. The more you walk in, the more you feel immersed in the family yourself.

Best service in town. Even during busy hours, staff genuinely checks in to see if you need any refills, extra tortillas, or salsa. They care that you're enjoying your food and take constructive feedback. Any naysayers that disagree likely didn't treat staff with the respect they deserve. In fact, the Inclusive staff that's affirming of people of different backgrounds compared to other restaurants.

Be on the lookout for The Jalapeno Grille. I can assure you there's more to come for this mom-and-pop shop, just you wait! If it's not on your list, get with the program, and walk in for an unforgettable breakfast, lunch, or dinner extravaganza. If it doesn't immediately grow on you, I reckon you'll find yourself in withdrawals, craving their take-out until your fondness of...

General comments below the food specifics.

Chips and Salsa: Freshly fried thicker corn tortillas, lightly salted (good). Fresh salsa, a little watery and the jalapeño seeds certainly made it on the hotter side, but that's personal preference.

Tamale: Pretty nice. Pork didnt have a ton of flavor on its own, but the whole thing was nicely cooked. Loads better than, say, a Portillo's tamale that just ends up as a mush of corn.

Al Pasor Taco: Very flavorful and moist. Excellent taste. Pricey, but didn't skimp on the meat.

Carne Asada Tostada: Solid beef and just generally very good. Corn tortilla stood up well to the beef juices while we were eating other portions.

Refried Beans: Nicely seasoned with flavor throughout. A nice change compared to many other places where the beans are just plain bland.

Rice: Properly cooked and seasoned.

Was a very good meal overall. A large portion of food which was easily split between two adults, and still managed to stuff us full. Definitely on the pricier side, but I suppose that's just how things are anymore. Will try Taco Tuesday eventually and see if you still get a good value for the great...

EXPENSIVE. doesnt look it from the pics of the place but it is pricey. We got the quesabirria and the hamburger. Both were good. Its hard to mess up quesabirria so no sirprise there but the hamburger was really good. Mexican places always have the best burgers. The bason was thick and perfectly crunchy. There were 2 patties and the chiles weregood. The fries were also pretty tasty. I also got an horchata which was homemade and really yumy and im a horchata snob so you know it was good. I like it really sweet and it was perf so if you dont love sweet the horchata may not be for you. The only thing is the place looks pretty cheap like a rinky dink place but its REALLY expensive!! It cost $40 for the quesabirri, hamburger and an horchata! The 16oz horchata itself was 4$.

The owners are lovely humans, and they make authentic and delicious dishes. There is outdoor and indoor seating. You will need to order before you sit down, and they bring it to you. Pick up after yourself, please! I noticed a bathroom indoor, but I am unsure if there is a changing table, or if it easily accessible for wheelchairs. The space is decorated with just the right amount of charm and you can truly tell the people working really enjoy what they do. Five stars!!! Highly recommend

Came here on lunch to grab a quick bite to eat. Have to say the inside was not what I had expected. It was very eclectic inside with many things to keep you entertained while you wait for your food. We ended up ordering a few breakfast tacos, 3 ground beef tacos, and a couple of their specialties. Was a little disappointed on the amount of meat they put in the tacos, but overall the taste was awesome. Next time I come here I’ll be trying out a burrito they looked pretty popular.
