Firehouse Subs Coborn Plaza — Restaurant in St. Cloud

Came to the St Cloud location with two of my coworkers. We work in the corrections field and have always gotten the law enforcement discount while in uniform. Today was a different story. When the cashier was ringing up our bill, she asked the manager if corrections get the law enforcement discount. The manager looked over at us and smugly yelled, "Nope". Then had this arrogant look on his face with a smirk that was very obvious of his distain. I don't wanna take away from how awesome the sandwiches were cuz they ARE the best in St Cloud. Abiet pretty dang expensive. I paid $21 for just a sandwich. I remember not too long ago when $21 would get you a ribeye in a nice restaurant. But that's a different story. My irritation comes at the rudeness of the manager. I don't even care about the discount. Not like the discount is even noticeable. It was how he responded to the inquiry. In addition, after we had finished our subs, one of my coworkers forgot to grab the cookie he purchased, so he went to the counter to get it. That manager glared at him as if he was stealing it. He mean-mugged him the entire walk back to his seat. On the way out, I approached this clown and asked him if he was the manager, and he responded, "Yes." I then asked him what his name was. "Eli" was his reply. Smugly he responded, "Can I help you with something?" I said, "Nope" and walked out. I also would like to add, the rest of the employees were awesome. I came into the St cloud location on 10/7. It was around 10am and there was only 2 other customers besides myself. When I went to order, I wanted a gallon of the lemonade. The cashier (young man) didnt know how to ring it up so he asks the manager. The manager argued with me several times saying they do not have gallons nor does he know what im talking about. I told him I've ordered here several times on Door Dash, so you obviously know what im talking about. The entire time hes huffing and puffing, giving me dirty looks, and literally throwing my sandwiches together. When he was making my sandwiches I asked when do I add the toppings (again, I've only ordered here from Door Dash) the young man said I needed to add them on check out, so i asked if he could just add jalapenos to 2 of the 3 sandwiches. The young man was happy to help, but his manager once again starts LOUDLY huffing and laughs. I asked him what was so funny and he had no reply. Ive ordered from this restaurant atleast 15 times from Door dash, if i would have known this is the type of people who work here I would have never spent a dime. I am shocked this place has as good of reviews as it does because the service is inexcusable and baffling. I feel like every time I come in I am a burden to them and I know it’s the store manager that’s always rude and short with everyone that comes in or at least I assume she is because she’s always there. Probably the main issue… I’m very patient and understanding of guest service and how hard it is to please everyone but this location is lacking decent leadership and will do far better with a committed manager/staff. The icing on the cake is when I walked in the manager”I assume” was leaning over the open food bar behind the counter with her phone over all the fixings and the food, she acted like I was inconveniencing her YouTube time and called another cashier(also short and rude) when I got my food the manager went right back to texting over the open food tray.
