McDonald's — Restaurant in St. John

Out of cookies for days now. The management at this location is inept. Obviously they have no clue how to order, train and keep their employees or put the proper employees in the proper positions. I made the mistake of coming here yesterday morning, Friday, October 19, and my order was taken by someone who could not speak English properly or understand my order. Apparently, she couldn't understand anyone's order because the line was stretched all the way around the building. My food was given to me by someone who could speak AND understand English. I mean, who gives someone with a bad broken accent a microphone to take orders from English speaking people???!?! I mean, let her hand food out and say thank you, at least she could muster that much understandable English. Oh, wait, I forgot they're not trained to say thank you, They are trained to give you your food with a nasty attitude - my bad. About a mile north, also on Wicker Avenue, is the beautiful Schererville Mcdonalds. It is open 24 hours and it never runs out of cookies. I remember this location opening back in the 80's and it has always been a shining example of what a Mcdonald's should be. This "newer" St John location is a complete joke. If I could leave zero stars I would, my husband and I waited in the drive through for 8 minutes when we decided to just go in. We drove past the window and no one was in it to take orders, no wonder we waited so long. Then when we went in to order, we waited another 5 minutes for an employee to get to the register.

When she decided to grace us with her presence, we were told 2 of the items we ordered weren’t available, thus I have no options for a dinner here. Great.

They constantly mess up orders and often don’t even remember to put toys in a happy meal.

Tonight was the final straw though, after waiting for almost 15 minutes to get ANY service, we waited for over 20 minutes to even GET the food we did order. How is 30+ minutes of waiting acceptable for this franchise owner? The owner clearly doesn’t care about service and the standards put in place by Ray Kroc. I do not normally leave Google reviews and I am not a McDonalds regular, but I had a negative experience on May 12, 2025 at 7am. I ordered a medium mocha frappe. When I pulled up to the window, the girl thought I had ordered a breakfast sandwich. No big deal; working fast food can be overwhelming, especially working drive through. I told her that was not what I ordered, and another woman refunded my order. After going back and forth with the girl about what I had actually ordered, I was charged with a medium mocha frappe, but was given a small mocha frappe. Here is the picture and receipts.
