I hate giving Molly’s a 1-star for service, as my niece and I visit this establishment frequently. My niece and I attend The Taco Tequila crawl’s that are held once a year and we always stop by at Molly’s first, as that’s our check-in point and then we circle back and make Molly’s our last stop for the delicious oysters and drinks. Yesterday we ordered two glasses of wine. Unfortunately the glasses of wine were not to our liking. I explained to the lovely lady who was taking great care of us, whose name I do not know, that we simply did not care for the wine. I asked if they could be taken off our bill and she said that she would bring the manager over. When the manager arrived she asked what wrong with the wine which was irrelevant. The point is we did not care for what we ordered and should not have to pay for those items. Mind you we were happy with everything else but the wine. The manager who was clearly not going to comply. When asked if I could speak to the person above her, her response was that she was the General Manager. I explained to her that obviously there’s someone above her and I would like their contact info. She refused to not only give me her name, but refused to give me the info of who is above her. She then tells me that I would be paying for the wine even though it was not to our liking. She then goes on to saying that once they open the bottle of wine there’s nothing they can do. I could completely understand if we had drank the whole glasses of wine, but that wasn’t the case. We took a couple of sips and decided it was not to our liking and we shouldn’t have had to pay for something we didn’t care for. Needless to say we were completely disappointed in not only the service, the unprofessionalism of the manager and how we were treated

In town visiting a friends for Thanksgiving. She is new to the area so we googled brunch places with bottomless mimosas. We love a good boozy brunch. The bottomless was a good deal. And it was nice they use a specific cup to tell who is doing it. That way any server walking past can fill you up. We sat on the patio side that had brunch. It was in the 30/40s so it was nice they had a temp controlled, covered patio. It did get a bit warm out there, but I'm always hot. We shared the breakfast nachos. They had good flavor. The chips got really soggy, really fast. We also ordered it with a runny egg. The server said most people get it with scrambled eggs. That would likely help with the sogginess. I had the breakfast burger. It was really good! I'd probably salt and pepper the patties while they are grilling but it was still good. They forgot my side of ranch and it took a bit to get that, but it had gotten really full/busy and the server seemed to be taking care of quite a few tables so did not want to bug him to grab it. The server had recommended the French toast bake. My buddy got it and let us all try it. It was very good. Thick. Flavorful. The sauce on it was great! It would have been too sweet for me to eat the whole thing, but my buddy destroyed it and was very happy with it. When it did get busier, sometimes we waited a bit for mimosa refills, but it wasn't that bad and we understand places are busy with limited staff right now. We would definitely go back. I love taking my dog for a patio drink, so if we are ever back in a warmer month and not looking to eat, we would definitely stop back here.

I'm not a fan, but many are. Molly's is a nice venue with a variety of outdoor and indoor seating; although, on a busy night, you may not have a seat. Molly's food is good, but I highly question the sanitation of the place. Last time I visited, I dined indoors. The space was full of gnats or maybe fruit flies. It was so bad, one ended up in my drink. I'll commend the customer service, as they took the drink off my bill. Still, I was disgusted by the salt shaker, which appeared to have things other than salt in it. Price-wise, they're a little pricey compared to other Soulard bars/restaurants. I'd say their mixed drinks are almost double that of their neighboring businesses. Plus, they have silly rules like you can get happy hour prices at the main bar outside, but not in the dining room. Molly's typically draws a young crowd. I've observed several nights, where they had to have been over capacity. The disregard for general safety of their customers and their own employees is a concern of mine. Overall, on the surface level, Molly's looks like a fun place. I don't enjoy it much, but many others do.

I had by far the worst experience I have ever had at this establishment. My friends and I had come down to Mollys after having dinner up the street to have a couple drinks for my friends graduation. We sat at the bar after a couple of men left and had ordered our first round of lemon drop shots. We were asked if we wanted to start a tab and didn’t but did order a second round of drinks. We talked amongst ourselves not bothering anyone not loud or disruptive. As we are talking I asked to order wings.. the bartender I believe her name was Layla asked did I want some I said yes and asked what flavors they had and she gave me a menu. We continue to talk and sip on our drinks talking and she asked did we know what we wanted I told her not yet we needed a few more moments to look. Next thing I knew she handed us our checks separately for $16.60 a piece. At that point we knew it was time to go. Because her demeanor towards us changed once we didn’t want to open a tab. 2. I did not say I was not going to order anything or that I needed my receipt she took it amongst herself to give it to us after I told her more than once that I wanted food. We decided not to say anything and just pay our tab. One gave her exactly $16.60, I gave $50.60, and the other person gave a debit card. I RECEIVED the wrong amount of change. I did not yell or get an attitude about it. I counted 2x had my friend count 2x and calculator prior to letting her know it was incorrect to make sure I was not missing something. I let her know I was missing my dollar! She proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that I gave her another amount and I had to breakdown what I gave her because she had to come back to get the rest because I wasn’t finished placing my money down when she grabbed it. So she still did not want to be incorrect and told me she owed me .10 cents with a snarky attitude. At this point a lady in a white shirt who hadn’t been around to know what was happening jumped into the conversation looking at the pos like no she gave you the right amount and again she had not.(She went to get the lady) She then turned around to the security guard to ask him was the amount correct. So I pulled out my phone calculator to show the math and that she was incorrect. She then proceeded to say sorry but it’s just a dollar! I wouldn’t care if it was a penny it was mine and the way we were treated I wish I wouldn’t have spent any money here. What made it worse was that they kept on being confrontational towards us with the lady in the white shirt being the loudest and I still did not yell or curse I asked them to be quiet and to stop talking to us and she let the security guard know that we needed to be escorted out but we where already leaving. So that made me mad because they were upset because they were wrong. I still did not yell. So as we are being escorted out my friend needed a moment and the security guard said something disrespectful that he later apologized for and she she was upset. Unfortunately we had to go back because while we were put out because they were too busy arguing with me about change the other person did not receive her debit card back so we had to go back to get it. Now I’m guessing it’s two managers standing at the front with security asking what was needed she let them know her debit card was here and the ladies response wasn’t oh let me check and see. She IMMEDIATELY said Oh you’re the one who were just here..NO we don’t have any cards here. I told her she was lying because they were too busy arguing and again another person who was no where near the incident being RUDE! GUESS WHAT: They HAD the Card!! So now the last person in the party is upset. So many things are wrong within this scenario and what makes it worse is we have the majority of it recorded which I will be posting because we did not deserve the treatment we received. We were not loud, rude, or ignorant. Didn’t yell until the security guard said what he said. I will never patronize Mollys again it is disheartening because I have been here plenty of times...

Patio great. Food meh. Service hostile.

Came after Cards victory, as a former St. Louis resident I'd recalled Molly's in another life and eagerly suggested we visit. We wanted to watch the Blues hockey game so sat at the bar. Our completely indifferent bartender asked what we wanted, somehow while never looking at us (an endearment demonstrated throughout the ordeal) and had to be told twice or more for everything we ordered. After asking for menus they were delivered ten minutes later, again, without a word and without looking at us. My date and I looked at each other and laughed and wondered why somebody that hated their job so obviously even bothered to show up for work.

This same menu suggests that "Gator bites" are the "chefs favorite" so had to order them (as an appetizer, we presumed), along with the jambalaya and pulled pork sandwich. This menagerie came all at once, with no appetizer separation and my displeasure was expressed to our bartender and server. The server suggested we just eat it and have the bartender take it off the bill, since " we will just throw it out anyway!" The bartender said something to the effect of "it's your fault dummy" before returning to the order computer to, I assumed, remove the Gator bites from my bill.

The gator bites were some of the most Sysco freezer bag, two months past freshness- dated, doughy, tasteless, devoid of any apparent alligator input concoctions ever thrust onto an appetizer menu. The jambalaya was fine. The pulled pork sandwich was on a bun big enough for a Volkswagen, with shards of lettuce (apparently a salad attempt) loosely woven around the monster bun. As inspiring as seeing spilled lettuce on a highway after falling off a produce truck.

Our bartender dropped the F bomb in front of us, suddenly and shockingly and disruptively, and my date and I again just looked at each other and laughed- clearly we were being tested by forces greater than us.

The check came, after again telling my bartender my name, only this time he required my last name. Great, I figured he'd gotten me confused and had thrown all kinds of beer orders onto my bill. Nope, the bill had exactly what I'd ordered, including , drumroll, my gator bites. It's $9 or whatever, I don't care about the money. I do care about the abusive service, the charged atmosphere, the lousy food, and saying goodbye to the Molly's I'd enjoyed in the 90s.

The barking dog 15 feet away just enhanced the experience. (Note to dog owners, as cute as your golden is, muzzle it or...
