Murray's Shaved Ice — Restaurant in St. Louis

It's always great when April comes around and Murray's opens for the season. While not the original snow cone stand for that location, Alderman Joe Vaccaro's parents, Joe and Rose, started the original stand, Murray's has been there for 20 years carrying on a neighborhood tradition that began in 1953, and I am glad they are. Murray's has been a more than worthy torch bearer. It just wouldn't be summer without the "snow cone stand" next to White Front and those cups of perfectly shaved ice, flavored with just the right amount of syrupy goodness. I love watching my neice's eyes light up every time they hand her that cup, with a tower of colored ice rising above, just as I'm sure mine did when I was her age and my dad brought me. Customer service was amazing, we came to try them because of the sugar free choices🎉 It was nice to see my Hubby enjoy a snow cone. He got the biggest cup, with tigers blood and strawberry lemonade. It took him hours to finish it. It was plenty of juice to last through the entire treat. My son had a small cotton candy and bubblegum mix. Best shaved ice in St. Louis. The flavors are plentiful, unique, and, most importantly, they never skimp on the syrup so the ices are always tasty.

My only complaint is that they have so many original flavors and no information on what they are, so you have to ask the staff "What's in..." for every flavor you are curious about--wish they just put the combination of flavors...
