I am not from St.Louis, so all the standards set are from a different city, I don't want anyone to exclusively take my advice, I would always say that you should, if in doubt experience something yourself. With that said, let's begin the review.
I love tacobell, for a cheap price, you can get very decent food, and there isn't much of a cap for how good the food is, when understanding it is just fast food. Because of my love of tacobell, I frequently go to it, if I don't know what to eat, that is my go to. I was on vacation with my girlfriend, neither of us knew what to eat and we wanted to walk, so we walked a little over a mile to get there, it was a nice walk, although a little loud and hot. The city of St.Louis looks very nice.
When we got to the tacobell, the cool air was a great counter to the sunny day, but that is where the "Good" part of the review ends. We walked in, the off-white walls are stained with splotches of some unknown brown blobs, the set up is similar to the original design that tacobell looked like, it had the spinning chairs and the green, purple, pink design as tacobell used to have, this would be cool is they were in good condition, the seats have paint stripping from them, and possibly mold growing on the bottoms of just about everything. I don't want to say it IS mold, it just looks like a bunch of small black dots engulfing the area.
I waited for a while to have some almost argumentative teen. Be told to take my order, the first thing said was a complaint of the job and then a greeting, the entire time I was inside, on of the workers was glaring at me, or at least it seemed like it and was quite off putting.
The food was extraordinarily fast, I was impressed, but I think I know why. I order off of the dollar menu, the beefy Frito borrito, about 70% of the beef and Frito was gone, as in it was less full than usual. I also get an odd concoction when getting drinks, it has several things in it. Because of this I can't tell which drink was off, but overall the drinks seemed acidic, more so than normal, I know that is an odd complaint, but that is the best way of describing it.
After getting the meal, eating it and beginning to write a review, another employee was laughing and saying that, "Haha, this place SHOULD get shut down." The pronounciation wasn't exactly there, but that is the just of the statement heard.
Overall, I give this place a 2 because it still has some redeeming qualities, but because of the overall unprofessionalism displayed from the staff and the lackluster food and accommodation, there is nothing better than 40% I can give this place, honestly, I wish there were more stars so I could make it 25% expectation.
This tacobell is honestly disgraceful to have the name tacobell plaster on the building. To be a disgrace on the name of a fast food restaurant should mean something. If the owner of this store somehow sees this review, I'll gladly help turn this place into a great store, and if the FDA hears this please do your job.
All due and respect, thank you for reading this review, if you think I was being rude, I help back, thank you have...

I was doordashing and went to 501 Chouteau Ave St Louis, MO Taco Bell. I stood inside for over 20 minutes attempting to talk to the workers to let them know that I was a dasher. All 3 made eye contact with me. Not one of them said anything to me. They just continued helping the drive-thru as 2 more dashers came inside and they received the same treatment. So I went to the drive thru and sat out there for another 30 minutes, 15 of it at the speaker waiting to be taken care of, before driving up to the window and knocking. Finally I was acknowledged and told they were workinlg on my customers order right then. A couple minutes later I'm told someone already got the order that I've been waiting 55 minutes for and that it was just a couple of minutes ago. If they had acknowledged me in the beginning theyd have known those 17 items were for my customer, or if they'd done their job correctly and verified the customer name on the app and that the Dasher confirmed the order was picked up this wouldn't have happened. But instead somebody got the food for free while my customer is left cleaning up the mess. The order was put in on the Taco Bell app, not the DoorDash app so she has to figure out how to cancel it herself. And because of this I lost out all of that time and made no money. If it had been on the DoorDash app I'd get at least half pay, but not when It's through the Taco Bell app.
I asked for the managers name and it turns out one of the employees there is the manager so I asked for her GMs name and number. I was told Roxie and that she doesn't know the number. When I asked for the location number for this store she couldn't tell me that either, just the address. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. 3 employees make eye contact with you, you try to talk to them, and all 3 then proceed to ignore you. How did this lady become a manager? Does Roxie not care about her customers and their experience? Her choice of representative tells me she doesn't. Is Corporate aware of the treatment their customers are receiving at this location? I understand being shortstaffed, been there, done that, but there is no excuse for a lack of basic courtesy when you work in the customer service business.
Beware all Dashers, I would think twice before coming to...
Read moreQuick update 4/24/24: there’s been a lot of staff improvement! Knock on wood, we haven’t had any issues in months, either. I gave a star back :) I wish I could have half stars; I’d give 3.75 stars. So close to 4 stars!
Update: down to 2 stars from 3! I placed a mobile order today, 11/30. When my partner and I pulled up to the window, we were told there was no order with my name on it there. We confirmed the location, we gave the order number, we said we ordered it for grab & go so maybe that’s why it couldn’t be found, but still the employee told us, “it’s not on my screen.” My partner asked what we need to do and the employee replied, “I don’t know what you want me to do.” My partner said, “you’re the one who works there, what can be done about this?” She responded, “first of all, I work for Taco Bell, not the app thank you very much—“ then she stopped suddenly. Then she said “pull forward to the window.” At the window, a man who I assume is the manager apologized, said that our order had been released without her (the rude employee’s) knowledge, and that our order would be right up. We thanked him and our food was given to us shortly after that. The rude employee handed the food and then the drinks to my partner and pointedly refused to look at him. I was missing a burrito, but I was so tired of dealing with this situation I just wanted to leave. How difficult could it have been for her to ask her fellow employees, or her manager, about the status of our order? What about saying, “I don’t know, but if you hold on a moment I’ll find out”? I have a frustrating customer service job too, and I escalate the situation to a supervisor or someone else outside of the situation when I find myself getting frustrated. This employee’s behavior was unacceptable.
I don’t even know how to rate this location. My experiences are a total grab bag. They’re almost always understaffed, and employees can’t do anything about that—I feel for them for that. Sometimes employees look and act like they hate their jobs, sometimes they look like they’re just trying to get through the day and do their jobs, and occasionally there’s very good service. It’s not uncommon to get to the window and be told they’re out...
