Among the numerous historic homes in town, this is unremarkable by comparison. The third floor was was under repair so fully 1/3 of the home is unavailable. The home is attached to a toy museum, as Mr. Field was a noted collector -- and even this collection is modest and not outstanding. The fee was excessive for the tour. In brief, other historic St. Louis homes are much better maintained or have better collections.

This historic home is a must for anyone in St. Louis - locals and tourists alike! The tour guide was so informative and engaging, responding to live-questions naturally and weaving them into the tour. The archives in the library, as well as their temporary exhibits which rotate out made the entire campus shine. I especially found the old furniture in the home, and the craftsmanship it contained, impressive.

Went to see the Annie Malone exhibit at the Eugene Field House. Both of them are St. Louis treasures. Kudos to Linda Nance for preserving this history of a remarkable woman. Glad we saw it.

What a wonderful experience! Having been to Chicago many times, I decided to take part in sights today by visiting the Field House Museum. The exhibits were amazing! I particularly enjoyed the pyramids of Egypt. Seeing how people were mummified brought a feeling of anxiety as I pondered what the individual was feeling while being wrapped and put in storage for the rest of their lives. Don’t worry! Though the mummy seems like it will move, it never did.Lol. All the animals in the museum seemed so real! There were so many different species that caught my eyes. Imagine seeing a bird with no wings… yes a bird with no wings. Just when you thought you’ve seen it all, check out this museum and...

New to the area, so called ahead from Chesterfield, west of the city to inquire if they were open- was told yes, then asked about parking and was told even though there was a game, they had spaces for museum guests. After fighting game traffic to get there, trying to find the right parking lot, getting in and only after paying I was informed the house was closed- the reason I came and which I called ahead about!! They had a few exhibits I was not interested in and was able to be refunded. I was told about another mansion tour nearby, but because of a parade on the same day could not find a way to it. Several...

Just spent a delightful morning touring the Eugene Fields House and loved every minute. The guided part of the tour was wonderful and it is very apparent the research and great care that has gone into this marvelous museum. The furnishings just gorgeous and many of them original to the home and Fields family. The quilt exhibit from the 1800's was amazing. It is well worth your time to visit this historic home, Learn abaut Eugene Fields and his family and meet the staff who are warm, welcoming, and well informed. Wonderful experience and I plan on taking my grandchildren...
