Jeffâs Donuts đ©!!! THEY ARE OPEN 24/7 YâALL!!! Itâs TRUE!! I DID ask, and theyâll be utilizing Uber eats and other vehicles (no pun intended!) for delivery as well. Okayyy, So to the review! One star âïž is added for the hours alone. Their hours are bold and promising, in a city where ALL our fast food/other places to get food close EARLY AND OFTENâŠIF they are not closed due to short staffing issues. TBC on the promise of staying open is kept! The service: 5 stars âš ALL AROUND! The gal in front was friendly and happy to see me, even though I know for a fact sheâd just served like 40 customers. I wanted to wait until the place was clear so I could make a difficult đ„ decisionâ WHICH DONUTS TO TRY! I LOVE Orange creamsicle ANYTHING, but I donât like crĂšme- filled donutsâŠso the kind gal offered to make me one with JUST the orange icing!! It was SO GOOD, too!
The đ© : Iâm a Heitzmanâs girlâŠI grew up having my uncle show up with them and a gallon of milkâwhenever he felt like it, so I feel like my standards are pretty high. (Classic Louisville bakery who have been here for decadesâand undoubtedly the best donuts in the city!!) but I digress, as per usual. The donuts are $2 apiece, so Iâm layinâ the boom down on the review, and not âsugarcoatingâ it. THEY ARE GOOD!! REALLLY GOOD!! They are nice and big, so they didnât take any shortcuts on size! I DID notice one thing that Iâll have to get used to, which is the icing being a little thick. Iâm under the impression that most places put the icing on the donuts at a time when it wonât stay super thick. Jeffâs donuts wait until the donut is not warm to put the icing on there, which shockingly to me⊠Iâm good with! They are all around delicious donuts, and surprisingly I even liked the ones with apples in the center!!! YUM đ€€!!!! Donât walk- RUN to Jeffâs!!! *DO NOT expect a lot of pomp and circumstance when you go into Jeffâs. The walls are bare, no menu sans the one on the counter. But I noticed a young man cleaning the outside of their fridge/proofer? AKA, giant silver machine when I was sitting in the car waiting. Iâll take that over someone hanging pics and throwing a party when I walk in any day!! Keep up the cleanliness, Jeffâs!! Yas đđŒ!!! *please refer to pics for description *THERE MAY OR MAY NOT BE A FACE IN MY ORANGE DONUT⊠THAT IS...
Read moreFirst and foremost, I want to say that the donuts are delicious. I frequent Jeffâs as I work and live within the vicinity of the St Matthews location. The donuts are pretty big so I didnât care too much about the price being $2 a donut. Well now I visit and the donuts have gone up to $2.50 per donut. That takes a dozen from $24 to $30! I think we have now crossed the threshold of ridiculousness. You have been in this location for maybe 1.5 to 2 years, and your prices have jumped a quarter of the original price already? Should we expect $3-4 per donut in the near future. I am assuming you are locally owned given the fact that you all only have locations within the Louisville/Southern Indiana area. I make it my business to support local businesses but itâs becoming very hard to do so, because of things like this. Maybe being open 24/7 isnât the best idea if your overhead already has you making such increases. Just my opinion. But, understand that almost every single person in the shop this morning were taken aback that you not only increased prices but that you never gave fair warning that it was...
Read morefirstly, after reading many comments below of 1 stars, I have NEVER ever been treated rudely or dismissive by any of their workers, and I have encountered about 8 different ones in the last year +. I had nice chats with ALL of them. The donuts are old fashioned style donuts, fresh and very tasty. The only downside is that I think the price is very steep for a dozen/ it is now $30. I understand from back in December , egg prices and flour skyrocketed for everyone, but they now have gone down I believe. I just googled this as of July 29, 2023, "Prices have since dropped. Wholesale prices are now just over $1 per dozen, down nearly 80% from their peak of $5.30 in December, according to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture". so they either need to lower their prices or find another way . Because even stores adjusted their higher prices back down somewhat. I would give 5 stars for the food, but the price of the $30 is still high for...
