Had dinner with my family at Hopdoddy Burger Bar this evening and overall it was a fun experience with a few ups and downs. The restaurant was packed, which gave it a lively energy, and I really liked the decor and vibe inside. It has that modern but casual feel, almost like a mix between a bar and a burger joint. You order at the counter, find your own seat, and the staff will bring the food out to you. The process was smooth and kept things moving even though it was busy.
Our total came to around $100 for the family. We tried a variety of items—burgers, chicken strips, and two different types of fries. The fries were the biggest disappointment of the night. They were thin, not really hot, and a bit overcooked, which was a letdown since fries are usually one of my favorite parts of a burger meal. The chicken strips were okay—on the salty side, but otherwise decent and crispy.
The highlight for me was the spicy burger I ordered. It came out juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a lot of flavor. It was seriously spicy, so much so that I had to pull some jalapeños out, and I usually enjoy heat. What I really liked was that it wasn’t a smash-style burger, so it kept that juiciness and meaty bite that makes a burger satisfying.
The staff was friendly and welcoming, although the kitchen seemed a little disorganized when I looked over. Still, everyone was working hard to keep up with the crowd. Overall, I’d say Hopdoddy is a cool spot with a fun atmosphere and really solid burgers. The fries missed the mark this time, but I’d definitely come back for the...
Read moreHey H-Town Foodies got another great one for ya. Hopdoddy Burger Bar just landed at The Grid in Stafford. Hopdoddy prides themselves with ethically sourced meats, fresh baked bread and hand cut fries. I opt to go in and camp out at the bar where I was graciously served by Nate. He started off with a great Old fashion and a wonderfully crafted Whisky Sour. The main event, of course, was the burger. My choice was the Double Bacon Jan. This was an outstanding burger, rich in flavor, with the help of the bacon jam. The bacon jam of course had a robust bacon flavor, but added a hint of tang and splash of seasoning salt taste… superb. I elected to add an egg, along with mayo and ketchup. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed this burger. To be honest I’m not a fan of the fries, all though they were fresh, thin, crispy and hot, I personally like steak fries, with crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The atmosphere was lively and well decorated, really giving you “night out” feel. The staff were all super friendly and very helpful and hats off again to the amazing service of my man Nate. I give Hopdoddy Burger Bar two thumbs up on...
Read moreThe servers were super nice and the place looked great. However, one of our burgers was literally raw, and the fries were horrendously seasoned to the point where it was inedible. I never complain about food to the restaurant, but this was the first time I did.
The server was super nice about it and apologized, but when they brought the manager, she was extremely condescending, rude, and passive aggressive. She said things like "we season our food properly" and "we're a new location so we do things the right way" when I pointed out that none of the 6+ locations I've been to have made the food as terrible as this. She then went on to say "next time just let us know you don't want your food seasoned" and then gave us two free burger coupons as if that would make up for her disgusting attitude.
One star is only for the other workers and the other food we got (Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Classic Burger). I have never been so disrespected by a restaurant...
