There is more to a good restaurant than good food. Cleanliness, good service, fair prices & ability to make someone want to come back. The customer is not always right, but upon reading the negative reviews I find the sarcasm of the owner's responses troubling. Sure having bugs is not something you can't always avoid, but trying to justify it is beyond belief. Adding in that there is a restaurant next door, as if the blame is to be shared? Complaints of inaccurate prices online could be avoided by having them clearly posted on the actual website of the restaurant & putting a disclaimer that prices on other sites may be wrong. A customer hogging a large table on a Sunday when they are alone is a legitimate inconvenience & the only negative review I agree with the owners. I have seen a very lax behavior on the staff's concern of masks, which makes one wonder if the kitchen is even more lax than the visible areas. The food isn't awful, but it is below average & somewhat higher priced for what you get. In response to your sarcastic response, to my review, exactly my point...you don't seem to have the finesse to rectify negative criticisms. As to your question of will I be returning to your establishment? That would be a...

The waitress walked away when I tried to tell her that the gluten-free toast was not a preference, but an allergy. I often have to say this because it takes way too much time to explain the medical difference between an intolerance and an allergy. She then proceeded to serve me regular toast. When I got suspicious, I had my friend try some. Gluten-free bread has a very distinct flavor from regular bread. It also does not hold together as well and can be very crumbly. When I told them, "hey! this isn't gluten free! I want a refund. You guys just freaking poisoned me!" they tried to deny that they had served me regular bread toast.
I'm literally only here in town for a convention. My hotel room has one bathroom. I'm sharing it with three other people. They will now have to go elsewhere to use the restroom for the next few hours, because I'm stuck on the toilet right now, with my stomach in massive pain.
If you have any food allergies, do not come here. Especially if you're gluten-free for medical reasons or if you have...
Read moreAwful food. The chicken sandwich that I ordered was obviously old meat. The outside of the chicken breast was tough and discolored where the inside was stringy and white. The meal was extremely expensive: one beer and two sandwiches totaled $32 which also left a bad impression on us. Thumbs down to you Bedford Street Diner. In addition, the gentleman that was cooking the meals who was the chef I guess, had a baby there with him and he was taking the baby to the kitchen cooking with the baby in his arms. I've never seen anything like that. More people need to stand up and speak what's on their mind when it comes to deficient quality in restaurant food and the money we're mandated to pay for that.
Please note the owner's snide reply and unapologetic attitude and seriously consider eating at a restaurant that actually cares about what they serve to the public and that takes responsibility when they're in the wrong. Bedford Street Diner is certainly...
