A fine start and a well needed addition for the area. Overall I would recommend others try. But there is much improvement needed. I look forward to seeing the restaurants success.

We came in for dinner on a Friday night, we were able to walk in with no wait, but the place was a bit busy. We were greeted very kindly.

Menu & Food: Once sat, we started to browse the menu and that is where a lot of the confusion started. We are originally from NYC and have an abundance of authentic and western-ized Korean options. We love our Korean food and often make it at home. The menu was confusing because of the odd pricing and rigidity. For instance, why is the regular rice cake $15 and the “creamy” one is $25? Why is the Korean chicken $12 but the “spicy” Korean chicken is $25? Our waitress informed us that the spicy chicken was a larger portion (this is indicated nowhere on the menu). So I asked if I could get spicy chicken in a smaller portion so I can order multiple dishes. I was told no. Advice: make one fried chicken option, offer multiple sauce and size options like literally any other restaurant would - limits confusion and provides options.

We ordered the traditional rice cakes, bulgogi dinner, and spicy pork dinner. There were other things I wanted to try but the pricing was all over the place. The rice cake sauce was too thin to properly coat the rice cakes, but the taste was good and surprisingly had a nice spicy kick. If I had my way, I would love the option to add mozz cheese, corn, or fish cakes just like in the city!!! In its current form, I would not reorder if I was craving rice cakes, I would just pop open a bag from Trader Joe’s.

The spicy pork and bulgogi were very sweet honestly. But we finished both meals and they overall were tasty.

Also, if you have spicy pork already, why not add a pork bibimbap option??? That is all my partner wanted and is quite common in every Korean restaurant. We asked if we could sub in pork and were told no.

The banchan was a bit lacking (we only received pickled veggies and kimchi) both tasted great though!

Cocktails were fine, but I’d try something else next time. They weren’t really to our liking.

Service: Service was a bit slow, but the job got done. Everyone was nice and pleasant. I would recommend some more training on pronunciation of the Korean dishes and ingredients. I’m not even Korean and I was offended hearing some of the words lol. I’m joking, but yea that could be improved significantly.

Atmosphere: I’ll be honest, I don’t get it. It looks cold and there’s a giant pizza oven in the middle of a Korean restaurant and super tall cold white ceilings. This is not a big deal, it’s just doesn’t feel warm. The rest of the decor was nice.

Overall, I look forward to improving my review over time and look forward to the success of the restaurant. I will be back, but It’s not...

If you're looking for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Ginger’s Seoul Bar & Grill. My family and I visited this charming spot on a Friday afternoon, and it was our first time trying the cuisine. Even though the restaurant was quiet, we were greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that felt almost like dining in a beautiful green forest. The soothing music added to the calm ambiance, making it a perfect setting for a family meal.

We started with wontons as appetizers, which set the stage for the main courses. I ordered the Udon Soup, while my husband opted for the Bulgogi Bibimbap, and we got chicken fried rice for the kids. The meals arrived promptly, and the sizzling plates for the adults were a delightful surprise. Having had Udon soup in Japanese restaurants before, I was eager to try it in its Korean rendition, and it did not disappoint. Each version offered its unique flavors, and I appreciated the differences.

We indulged in lava cake for dessert, which the staff kindly helped cut in half for the kids. Although they had mixed feelings about the fried rice, they still managed to eat it along with the chicken, even though they found its texture different from their usual expectations. I would definitely recommend a more diverse menu for children who haven't experienced the diversity of foreign cuisine. The rest of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. With refreshing Soju and Terra beers to accompany our dishes, the experience was complete.

Ginger’s Seoul Bar & Grill also offers plenty of parking, making it convenient to visit. Overall, we were pleased with both the service and the food, and I can confidently say that we will be returning for another delightful meal! If you’re in the area, I highly...

My wife and I were excited to see that a new Korean spot opened up in Stamford. After viewing the menu online, we decided to check it out for ourselves. For context, my wife is Chinese American and I lived in Seoul for 1.5yrs so we can be tough critics of Korean food.

TLDR: Ginger’s is a new hidden gem and go-to for authentic, tasty Korean in a warm, inviting space.

We went on a Friday and brought our toddler. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we walked in and provided a high chair. We didn’t take long to decide on what to order: kimchijeon, bulgogi kimbap, mandu, and kimchi sondubu.

The first dish out was the steamed mandu. Our toddler loved them and immediately asked for more as soon as he finished each one. The kimbap came shortly after and my wife commented on how fresh it was, especially compared to the ones she usually picks up at H-Mart…. Hahaha

The kimchijeon arrived next and it was a winner. It had just enough kick and was full of flavor. This wasn’t a mushy sad pajeon, these were four more reasonably sized pajeons with crispy edges. Honestly one of the better pajeon dishes I’ve ever had.

Last came out my sondubu, and it was delicious. It had a kick with lots of flavors behind it as well. It reminded me of my time in Seoul.

Closing thoughts: As someone who doesn’t eat meat, I was very happy to see that there were many seafood and vegetarian options reflective of my time living in Seoul. Service was attentive and pleasant. Atmosphere was warm and inviting. Can’t wait to return and check out the rest...
