I would like to start by saying I usually don't leave bad reviews and especially not ones for small businesses. I like to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was a bad day or the food supply wasn't the most fresh, but these aren't things that apply to today's issue.
I went in today as a first-time customer and although it's a restaurant that caters to children and families, as a 28 year old woman, I thought it was calm place to be in.
The staff were kind and helpful, but my issue wasn't with them and was in fact with the food. I was truly taken aback by the prices of these items; $8-sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant and $8.25-berry smoothie. I thought "You know what? Today is friday and it's a beautiful day. I'll spend a little extra on this because I'm sure it's got to be really tasty for this price." Boy was I wrong. I had asked the staff member if I could substitute any of the ingredients in the smoothies he had told me about, but I was told that wasn't a possibility. I thought that was odd and offered the possibility of me doing a "make-your-own" smoothie but was again told no.
I ended up ordering the "Beary Good smoothie" and the "Breakfast Sandwich" and was disappointed. The sandwich looked and tasted similar to that of a gas station sandwich that was warmed up in the microwave. It was a messy sandwich with the egg definitely looking microwaved. I thought the smoothie would be my saving grace, but I was disappointed yet again. It tasted like a pre ingredient puréed mix that was tossed in a blender. It wasn't cold and was less than room temperature, which isn't something I'd want for a "refreshing smoothie" as mentioned by the staff.
I would love to go back, but I genuinely have no need to spend money on overpriced, pre-packaged, poor-tasting food. As a lover of breakfast foods, cafes, and smoothies, I'd suggest that you make your foods with real ingredients rather than the pre-packaged meals you have in the...
Read moreThis is a great place for parents; However, the age allowed in certain play areas should be enforced better. There was a much smaller play area for under 2. My kids were both under 2 but are very active and walk so we opted for the older section because they go to daycare and parks every weekend and can keep up with slightly older kids. The older section had littles barely crawling holding up the slides etc... There were much older kids like grade school kids very unattended and being very odd with the littler kids. Then there was a child that was very active climbing on the honeycombs looked around 14months and the parents were proud of her climbing but a minor slip and she was toast. She also kept taking other children's sippy cups and touching personal items. The parents found her endearing instead of rectifying the problems. We waited until our kids were able to walk and be active to go. Honestly, skip this place if your child is active and also reserved because the parents are too busy having their very tiny ones trying to keep up with the older kids and the older kids were too feral to be around the 2 and under 5 crowd. Our kids thrive at the parks where they can run if kids are hogging the slides. This is ok for urban dwellers that don't want or can't take a trip to a park that might be 10mins away. Also the AC was not great so not worth it during a heatwave. Overall, I appreciate it's existence as an option but if I go there again I'd have to go during off times and hope parents will actually parent and not gentle parent, because the kids keep doing what was not right and ruin...
Read moreI recently visited Honey Joe’s Coffee, and I can confidently say it’s one of the most thoughtfully designed coffee shops I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, making it an ideal spot to hunker down and “work from home” while enjoying a great cup of coffee. The layout is perfect for productivity, with comfortable seating, great lighting, and just the right amount of background noise to keep you focused.
The staff is a standout feature—they are so understanding, kind, and patient, which feels like a breath of fresh air in the fast-paced and often impersonal service world we live in today. They go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and valued, which really enhances the overall experience.
One of my favorite things about Honey Joe’s is how it caters to different needs without compromising its serene environment. They’ve created a separate area specifically for children and their parents, which is such a smart and considerate touch. Families can enjoy their time together in a space designed for them, while the main area remains calm and conducive to work, study, or quiet conversations. This thoughtful design makes the space feel inclusive and welcoming to both families and individuals.
Overall, Honey Joe’s Coffee is more than just a café—it’s a space that brings people together in a way that feels intentional and warm. Whether you’re a student, a professional, or a parent looking for a peaceful escape, this is the place to be. I’m already looking forward to...
