Luigi's Restaurant — Restaurant in Stamford

As one of two pizza places within easy driving distance from North Stamford High Ridge, we have been coming here for a while, and alternate between this one and Marios. We basically choose which one to go to depending on discount coupon availability and which is open. Based on food quality I give the edge to Marios, but neither is a place I would drive a long distance to. For the last year or so, they had always honored their "dine-in" $10 off coupon on all take-out orders. Last night we put our usual $80 order in and after ordering, when I mentioned the coupon, I was told that was for dine-in only. I told her we had been getting the discount for almost a year with no problem, but they refused to honor it. I told her I would be getting all my takeout from Marios from now on, though I still placed the order, thinking they would do the right thing. We get pizza takeout at least twice a month.

Any smart business person would have allowed the discount, with a polite explanation for future orders, and I would have been fine with that. Instead, for the grand sum of $10, they will now lose almost $1,000 in business from me every year. Any place with such an idiotic and unresponsive customer service attitude will never get my business. This is not the time for small business owners to forget who pays their bills.

This review is long overdue! I used Luigi’s to cater an outdoor family party for 15 people at the end of July (2021). I placed the order a week in advance via grub hub and specified the date and time I wanted the food delivered. The food delivered exactly on time, was piping hot, visually appealing and delicious. We ordered the penne primavera (veggies were fresh and al dente, like the penne, and the garlic was beautifully carmelized). Also ordered the chicken Francese, sausage & peppers (crispy and light batter, tender chicken and very nice lemon sauce) and bruschetta (carefully assembled). Everything exceeded expectations and trays were generous in portion size. The food was delicious and everyone really enjoyed it! The restaurant called me a couple of days before the party to confirm the order and delivery details. - really appreciated that personal touch and attention to detail. Thank you, Luigi’s! Horrendous customer service. I spent over $50 for a salad and a pizza and a side of spaghetti for my kid. I asked for salad dressing on the side and parmesan on side for spaghetti. No dressing. No parmesan. My kid refused to eat the pasta and well who eats a salad with no dressing. Called the restaurant and they said sorry, we can't bring your dressing. I asked if I'm expected to eat a plain salad after spending $18 on this salad plus close to $10 in delivery fees, service fee and that's not including the tip. They still said ummm sorry. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. It was like speaking to a teenager. Ummm sorry. This is ridiculous. I spent over $50 and couldn't even enjoy my dinner with my kids. No salad dressing for my $18 salad. What kind of restaurant is this???
