I will preface my review by saying that the second time we came to the diner, today , my twin toddler girls were having an off day so they were louder and a bit more impatient than normally.
We asked for crayons and it took a while For the waitress, Lovertin, to bring them. The diner was a bit busy so that was understandable. However, what was not okay was that when the waitress came she shooshed my girls while making more noise with the markers to try to put them at ease. I told her that “I didn’t appreciate her doing so and then we just went back and forth on her trying to explain how it wasn’t rude in her country and me either telling her that in mine it is rude to do so and/or for us to leave things as they are at that point.
I thought things would end there but they didn’t. A few minutes later the manager, Lucia, walked by my table and like me up and down in a rude manner. At the time, I didn’t know she was the manager but I certainly felt very uncomfortable with a staff member treating me that way.
At the end of the meal, I decided to approach the manager, and to my surprise, it ended up being the same person who’d come by to give me a look of “disgust”. When I tried explaining the situation her stance was that she’d already heard the situation, didn’t really even want my point of view, and it seemed like her mind was already made up as to what was wrong in the scenario.
Therefore, I told her that since she’d already made up her mind I would write a review about this. Once I mentioned the review, she tried getting my attention and , I think (assuming here) tried to get my attention.
In my opinion, I appreciate people sticking up for teammates and being a close knit business. However, it is important for businesses to also listen to the customers’ point of view to get a full Picture of the situation and then proceed accordingly. Furthermore, going to a restaurant with toddlers, some not all, can be a roll Of dice in terms of their behavior as they are just learning how to deal with and control their emotions.
I am giving a review of 3 stars because the first time we came here we had a great time, this second time the experience was not so great, and the food was okay. I will return to the diner in the future and will change my review according to...

Classic Diner Atmosphere, Average Food
For anyone seeking a nostalgic slice of Americana, look no further than Parkway Diner in Stamford. With its twenty-plus years of serving the community, this local staple encapsulates the true essence of a classic diner, from its gleaming stainless steel exterior to the brightly colored booths and barstool seats that adorn the interior.
It's clear that the place holds a charm that keeps customers coming back, as it's always bustling with activity. Its abundance of menu options ensures that there's something for everyone, and the staff here are nothing short of friendly and attentive. It's worth noting the endless refills of coffee - a true hallmark of an authentic diner experience that Parkway certainly delivers on.
However, as much as I appreciate the ambiance and service, the food, unfortunately, falls into the realm of mediocrity. On my recent visit, I opted for breakfast, specifically a Belgian waffle with eggs and bacon. While it served its purpose in satisfying my hunger, it lacked the wow factor to truly tantalize my palate. The ingredients were fresh, the meal was well-prepared, but it was missing the special touch that could elevate it from okay to exceptional.
With that said, if you're looking for an establishment that encapsulates the quintessential diner experience and offers a wide array of menu items, Parkway Diner is worth a visit. The charm and friendliness of the place are undeniable and make for a lovely dining experience. Just temper your expectations when it comes to the food. The diner fare is acceptable but falls short of the same standout quality that the diner's atmosphere and service...
Read moreWe are giving this place two stars because at least one employee was nice and looked us in the face. We’d only been seated with our menus for less than a minute when our waitress/server came to take our order. We weren’t ready to order, so she came back about three minutes later. Again, we weren’t quite ready. We are from out-of-state and unfamiliar with menu. She was high energy, impersonal and we felt like an inconvenience to her because she was going to have to come back again. She came back nearly ten minutes later. The food was nothing to write home about. The cheese in my omelet tasted processed. The potatoes were so greasy, I couldn’t actually taste the potato flavor. The bread was advertised as whole wheat. It is not. The waitress came back after serving our food to “check on us.” She asked if everything was okay, but never looked us in the face, she was so distracted with other guests near us and what the other employees were doing. The two of us had food in our mouths and as she was asking about us, poured more coffee, looking across the room, and never waited for us to respond before moving away. My traveling companion noted, “She obviously uses that pat language and didn’t care one bit if we were okay.” As I mentioned, there was at least one employee that was sweet & welcomed us when we came in to the diner. This was not our favorite dining experience on our three week trek across the U. S. In addition, there was this tacky sign posted to the register when you paid for your ticket/bill. “God knows when...
