I finally had the chance to try out Rye Ridge Deli after having it on my list for a while. The interior was clean, though it felt a bit cramped. On a positive note, the staff acknowledged me right away, and the ordering process was smooth and efficient.
Unfortunately, the disappointment came when I received my order. I got a simple ham, egg, and cheese on a rollāand for the price, I expected something more impressive. At $6.99, plus a temporary egg surcharge of $1.00, my basic sandwich ended up costing $8.50. The only standout was the yellow American cheese (a nice change from the typical white American cheese here in CT). But overall, it didnāt feel worth the premium price tag.
Feeling unsatisfied, I went back to my go-to spot, Liz Sue Bagels, for the same exact sandwich and a buttered plain bagel, all for just $7.50āno extra surcharge involved. That experience felt much more worth it.
Rye Ridge Deli wasnāt bad, just overpriced for what it offered. I had high hopes, but Iām not sure Iāll be returning...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt usually go out of my way to say something negative about a place, but I have to say for my rather dry pastrami on rye, chips and water I was so shocked at how overpriced it was, I had the gumption to say something at the counter, I think I said something like āGood Lord Aboveā¦ā which was met with apathy. Enjoyed the pickle whatever if itās what you want and you enjoy the food great but itās terribly misleading that on Google maps it says people are paying 10$ā¦. iāve seen some people comparing it with other Jewish delis in the area; sure, but youāll be hard pressed to find a roast beef sandwich like the ones at Oscars in Westport back in the day. Really the food was fine, I just found the price was unconscionable. This isnāt manhattan. I would give the food more stars, but for what I paid it shouldāve been the best thing...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePleasantly surprised and impressed!! We stumbled into this deli after looking at several other restaurants in the shopping center (the others didnāt have fresh brewed iced tea). When we walked in we thought it was a counter to go type deli. Once we found out they had real fresh brewed iced tea we decided to look at the menu and then we found out thereās booths and itās an actual restaurant!!! My husband and I eat out for lunch & dinner every mealā¦. This place should be a 4.75 āļø diner!!!! Iāve never had pancakes so delicious in my life. They came with REAL 100% PURE MAPLE syrup. The omelette I ordered had avocado, zucchini and mushrooms with egg whitesā¦. It was so healthy and delicious!!! My husband ordered the hungry man breakfast and everything on his 2 plates...
