Exceptional Experience at Zaza Gastro Bar for My Son’s Baptism Lunch
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting my son’s baptism lunch at Zaza Gastro Bar, and I cannot express enough how outstanding the entire experience was. We were a party of 25, and from the moment we arrived (a bit early, I’ll admit), the staff was nothing but welcoming and accommodating. There was no pressure to rush or wait just genuine hospitality that set the tone for a beautiful afternoon.
The private space we were given, separate from the main restaurant, was beautifully decorated and elevated the ambiance of our celebration. Honestly, the space was so tastefully done that there was no need for any additional decorations unless you truly wanted to add your own touch.
The food was nothing short of amazing. Guests are still raving about the Caesar salad and calamari appetizers both of which were crowd favorites. As for the main courses, not a single plate went unfinished, which speaks volumes about the quality and flavor of the dishes.
We opted for a package that included soda, coffee, cappuccino, and tea, while alcoholic beverages were available via a cash bar. The waiter went above and beyond by personally taking each guest’s drink order at the table, eliminating the need for anyone to walk through the restaurant to order at the bar a small gesture that made a big difference in guest comfort.
The entire venue is beautifully decorated, and the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained throughout the event. Under the new management, Zaza has truly transformed the difference is like night and day. I’ve always loved the food and drinks here, but the improved service and overall experience have taken it to another level. Their sangria remains, without question, the best I’ve had in Fairfield County.
I wholeheartedly recommend Zaza Gastro Bar for any gathering, big or small. A huge thank you to the owners, management, and entire staff for making this day so special for my family. I’ll absolutely be reaching out again for future events!

Read moreThis place deserves zero stars. The absolute worst experience ever. I am a life long resident of Stamford. I've ate at 85% of the restaurants in Stamford. I eat out on a weekly basis. I spend a lot of money on dining and drinks. NEVER IN MY LIFE OR IN STAMFORD HAVE I HAD SUCH TERRIBLE EXPERIENCES. I went to ZAZA on JUNE 12th 2020 and AUG 6th 2021. Last summer (June 12th 2020) the owner was completely rude and rushed my dinner party. He had nasty comments and was disrespectful. I said I would never go back. Against my better judgement I agreed to go back with my girlfriends from High School on Friday. The owner said nasty comments to my table. Our waiter wanted to take our order but we didn't know what we wanted. The owner came with the waiter to our table to get us to order. When I responded to the owners rude comments he basically snapped. This man has such a poor attitude it's actually funny to think about. I don't know how this place is still in business. I am 100% Italian. I love Italian food. There are several other choices in Stamford that have WAY BETTER costumer service and food such as the pizza, penne alla vodka, chicken parmigiana, and caesar salad. I do NOT recommend this place. I have already told majority of my family, friends and co-workers about this terrible experience. I will continue to let everyone I know about my experience. I will NEVER be back. This place needs a fresh start and a new owner. I literally can't believe a business owner would act in such a way. My experience was absolutely horrendous. AVOID THIS PLACE. GO ANYWEHRE DOWN TOWN BUT THIS PLACE. CHECK OUT MCDONALDS ON THE CORNER. I BET THE EXPERIENCE WILL BE BETTER. GOOD LUCK...
Read moreReally upset about this review, had been to Zaza for the first time last week for a brunch (I’ve lived in DT Stamford for 3 years) & LOVED the atmosphere, service & food. I finally convinced my fiancé to give it a try (we’re truly loyal to Remo’s) & he finally agreed. We had a reservation for 6:30, the place wasn’t PACKED yet & immediately we were rushed through drinks, appetizers & our entree choice. Listen, I’m truly a level headed person & understand the busy atmosphere of DT Stamford on a weekend, but the place was not filled with a line out the door. Additionally, my fiancé and I work opposite shifts as nurses and getting a weekend night off together is rare, so to feel like we’re rushed was upsetting. Lastly, my fiancé accidentally ordered the wrong entree (probably because we were rushed!!) & when asking if we could change/reorder we got told NO. (We were okay with paying for both entrees!) As 2 employees of a service industry we were SHOCKED. We ended up asking for the bill after that, leaving our entrees in the kitchen & heading to our tried & true; Remos. A high bill for a low quality restaurant & service. Truly hope Zaza can rectify this because I loved & was rooting for this place going into tonight, especially with new management. Unfortunately, I’d go with Remos...
