There’s a good selection of beers, decent food, etc. We went during happy hour, where the menu states “$5 Draft Beers, rotating selection”. I wrongfully assumed this meant their draft selection was changing; it means the literal ONE beer (shandy) offered for happy hour was rotational. Keep in mind, you have to flip to the wine section of the drink menu to see that drinks denoted in red are happy hour eligible. Drinks in the menu are listed in black, red, orange, etc. so we didn’t think much of the coloring until she explained it to us AFTER we got our bill.
When we arrived, our waitress basically gave us our menus and walked off, no explanation of happy hour specials or anything, and no clarification when we ordered. It almost felt like we were an afterthought of a table, which isn’t how you want to be treated on a night out. When we ordered the fish tacos, I told her I’m lactose intolerant, and asked if there was any cheese or dairy on the dish. She had no clue, so I just asked her to put it on the side if there ended up being any included. Look, I don’t want to have issues digesting dairy, and I know others don’t like a hassle, but waitstaff should have a basic understanding of allergens in the food. For what it’s worth, the hot sauce they put on the fish tacos takes over the taste of anything else on there. Not the heat, the actual vinegary, Frank’s Red Hot flavor. Would not recommend this dish.
All in all, I’ve been here before, at night, and it was a chill fun bar. But during our happy hour visit, I felt deceived by the menu and ignored by our waitress. I’d come back for a beer on a Friday night if my friends really wanted to, but...
Read moreFOR BLACK GUEST, IMPORTANT: My mother, sister and I visited after the parade before it got busy. Acknowledge the waitress letting us know that the “bar was short staff”, even though we visited for the food. We waited 30 minutes and every guest that sat down after we arrived received their drinks before us. I had to go inside to request our drinks again because it seemed that our waitress forgot we were there. We finally got a drinks almost 20 minutes later and were able to order our meals. An hour went by and we noticed that people who arrived way after we sat down were finishing their meals and leaving. By then the guest next to us apologized because they recognized the difference in service we were receiving. At that point my family and I decided to leave because we came to terms that we weren’t welcomed. During our wait, I didn’t want to assume there was any racial treatment happening but when several guest who arrive before you are given better service….then it’s hard to not think that way. Plus another guest notice this as well, and shared some sympathy. In summary, we spent two hours waiting for our food while other guests received better service, even though they arrive later than us. For black guest, you might experience this depending on your waiter or waitress. If you’re not black, this...
Read moreI have to say I was thoroughly disappointed with the service here. I have been coming here for years and the service has diminished significantly. It's a great location and has much potential but the staffs service is much to be desired. They are unfriendly and do not seem to want to even entertain the idea of helping customers. They were short and rude and this is a frequent problem myself and fellow friends have encountered. Upon leaving, a friend said to the table "thanks for a fun night guys" and one of the staff had the audacity to pipe up "do you want to turn around and say that to my face". It was rude and uncalled for and just goes to show the level of service they are exhibiting. By the end of the night the whole table said that was the last time they would go there after several times of saying so. It really is a pity because they are in a great location and it has much potential to be a great restaurant/bar. There are plenty other bars to choose from around the area so they really should be stepping up their game to keep up with the heavy competition around them. This will hopefully get them to up their service because it has been absolutely appalling time...
