The first time we ate here, we did not have a great experience. (It took a very long time-and we didn’t even order pizza because we were warned that if we did, that would take a while-which understandable for the deep dish-and why we ordered different food instead. That food wasn’t great and after waiting 45 minutes for our dessert, she brought the wrong one out. It was just a disaster all the way around.) We decided to give it a second chance. We went when we had ample time, and had a great experience, and loved our deep dish pizza. However, today was a complete strike out. The service was terrible, we could tell he had not been trained (slow, awkward, and you could just tell he had not been taught how to be a waiter-he should’ve been shadowing someone still, not on his own yet), and after waiting over an hour for our pizza (yes-understandable with the deep dish) it tasted terrible. No flavor in the meat (the “Italian sausage” was nothing more than un-seasoned ground beef), it was NOT deep dish (very thin-see picture attached-we’ve had regular pizzas thicker than this one was) and not made at all like the pizza that we loved from our second experience there. Very disappointing to pay $33 for a pizza that was not good. We would’ve rather been told the kitchen was closed than pay so much for a bad lunch. Sadly, since we can’t count on consistency, we won’t be back.

Dave's Dark Horse Tavern was a gem my wife and I found but had previously passed up because we thought it was a place connected in with the Red Roof Inn located near it. We decided to take a gamble and give them a visit anyway. Y'all this is the reason we live for gambles and so glad we did. This place was a hole in a wall with an AMAZING ambience, great group activities like darts and pool, live music, great bar selections, and CRAZY delicious food. Needless to say, we doubled back 2 nights in a row. My wife is vegan and I'm vegetarian so we have been pretty limited on places that serve anything but a veggie burger for us and typical sides around Starkville. When we took the menu into our hands and saw falafel, hummus, veggie burger, cauliflower buffalo wings, cauliflower buffalo wrap, veggie pizza, etc. They CLEARLY took the time to look out for their vegan and vegetarian crowd and not just grab veggie meat burgers and call it a win. They also have great desserts and drinks on brew and top shelf. The beignets were as the French would probably say - un petit bout de paradis 🥰. If you are in Starkville, do yourself a "flavor" and make this one of your stops for an experience and meal that definitely won't disappoint. 🍽️ #HappyEating

Fun old school college town bar/restaurant with a compelling history...great pregame spot for MSU sports...plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with pool tables, darts, live music stage and TVs everywhere...extensive menu...food is well prepared with large portions...enjoyed seeing Bulldogs sports memorabilia covering walls...loved dark, dive bar setting with friendly staff and patrons

They steal from their customers. If you go there make sure you take a picture of your receipt or get a copy or just pay with cash, and be sure to check your bank statement the next day. Went there the other night and before we went (group of 4, meeting up with another group) one person in the group mentioned how they ripped them off one time by charging them $10 for no reason. (Ive worked in the food industry and I know how tipping works, typically there is a charge of the tab, then a separate one for the tip, not supposed to be a third with a random number of however much they want to steal from you) When he called them the next day, they apologized and said they would remove the charge but they never did. I thought maybe it was a fluke. Well guess what, when I check with my bank statement the next day there was another charge that shouldn't have been there, I tipped with cash and didn't tip with my card. I'm not sure if you can cuss on these reviews so I'm playing it safe but believe me this paragraph would have a lot more colorful choice of words. If just I know of two cases where this happened it makes me wonder how many times they actually do it. The customers can get drunk (it is a bar) and could easily forget how much they spent and I'm sure they get away with it a lot. This is VERY ILLEGAL and in my opinion just one of the lowest things someone could do to somebody else. Scum of the earth type stuff if you ask me. And if you plan on eating plan on waiting for about an hour. There food is okay though I'll give them that at least. Let's just say I will not...

My wife and I went to this place for the first time. They were a little busy so no place to sit inside which turned out to bed for the best. We were greeted by Tatiana super friendly and eager to help and serve us. We met some friends that had been need there since 7, we got there a little bit after 9. Our friends already had a tab open and were taken care of by another waitress. We ordered our drinks with Tatiana and after that here comes the super rude waitress and asks "are y'all together" we said yes out friends joined us. She then proceeded to take the table from Tatiana instead of closing our friends tab or just serving them. We were a new table. It was busy and that I very much understand. She took super long and spilled drinks on my friend twice and her customer service sucked. She then made a whole cluster F-($ on our bill, charged our friend for 1/2 of our food would not listen to what we were trying explain. My wife spoke to the manager and all he had to say was you need to understand we are busy. I went to request our receipt and the security guard by the bar white dude with a mustache when i asked to speak to the manager said I don't know the manager and literally shoved me. Needless to say I will NEVER be back here. Horrible customer...
