Very disappointed in the chocolate âfilledâ from Starkville. It was barely chocolate touched. I grew up with Shipleys in my home town and my favorite was always chocolate filled. They were always stuffed with the light creamy chocolate that squeezed out when you bit into them. Our Shipleys closed and the closest one is twenty minutes away. I havenât had one in over two years and wanted to treat myself to after two years of very little sugar. I drove the twenty minutes over there and twenty minutes back. Sat down with my treat and after three bites had not seen any chocolate. There ended up being less than a thimble full of filling. The photo is of the second one I ate and you can see I ate all around to see if it was as lacking as the first one. It was. Oh well, Iâm back on my health kick now anyway. Thanks for showing me I wasnât missing...
Read moreImagine getting up wanting a bacon biscuit but following doctor orders. I have hypertension, so I decided to get donuts at Shipleyâs. I ordered two donuts, one original and strawberry glazed this was my first time ordering the strawberry donut. I ate the original first and waited to eat the strawberry one later on. I had eaten my dinner, I go to eat my strawberry one afterwards and lord behold I took a bite on some type of metal. I was furious, I tried calling up there to speak with a manager and no one answered. Next day spoke to the black older lady in there, she said no manager was available. She stated she would give them the message and no one has yet to contact me. Imagine if that was a child, a parent would have been highly upset. So, just squeeze your donuts and make sure theyâre safe to eat. I simply wanted my money back...
Read moreI lived in Starkville for over 15 years, but moved out of state in 2005. Every time we come back in town for a visit, we have to âeat our wayâ around Starkville. Shipleys is ALWAYS our most favorite stop. We even take donuts across state line to share with others who have never had, what might be, the BEST donut on earth. Unfortunately, this round, we were let down. We came to the shop around 7am, to find there were no donuts to be had. About 2 hours later, we tried again. Again, we were disappointed. Four people making donuts and they couldnât keep up. The manager seemed nice, but totally dismissed the issue and acted flippant about the situation. Lots of people in line were also displeased, but there were plenty of large Togo orders leaving the store. Better planning might be needed to fulfill the demand of these...
