Hi, today I was a customer at University Park. I was in line and was speaking to one of the employee to give my order. I asked for bread sticks and cheese pizza. Unfortunately, the employee told me that they ran out of bread sticks. Not too much longer, I spoke to the next employee. She asked me what I wanted and I asked for bread sticks thinking that the employee before her might have misheard me. She told me that we have no more breadsticks and to get out of line. I told her that I didn't only order breadsticks but I ordered pizza as well. She claimed that I was lying because I was drunk and took my pizza and put it at the front of the line to "fetch" the pizza. I then asked her for her name because I found this very irresponsible and disrespectable. She then refused to give her name and therefore I asked for the manager. She then claimed to be the manager when she wasn't. I was then able to tell she was lying and she claimed I was too drunk too call her out. I asked for the manager again and she got him. She told me that the manager was not worth speaking to because he would just "spit in my face". As soon as I spoke to the manager, he claimed I was drunk. I did not speak to him at all yet and felt he already had a biased opinion. Although, he did offer to pay for my meal, I feel that this should not happen again. The next person in line should not feel the way I had to today. I felt embarrassed and humiliated when I didn't deserve it. This person lied to me that she was manager, wanted me to chase my food, and called me a liar when she wasn't even the person serving me. I am writing this because I feel hurt. I am not writing this because I want money or a coupon to come again. I have never been treated so bad from anyone else in my whole life and am here to warn you of your terrible employee. Since I never got her name, all I know is she had dark hair and had tattoos and worked at 1:00 pm on friday night. I hope things will improve so the next person in line will not feel as bad as...
Read moreI basically live across the street and for a year and a half I was religiously grabbing food here 1 or 2 times a week because its close and cheap. But after my experience last night with one of the owners I will never go back! I have never been so enraged by an owners disrespect that I just had to write this review.
Because I am there so often I usually get to know the staff even though there was obviously a high turn over rate for employees. That brings me to my friend who is a disabled veteran. I know he worked hard at this place because not only did I hear about it but I also saw it for myself because I live so close by and walk past canyon multiple times every day. I havent seen my friend recently, so I asked the man working the counter last night (someone that I know to be one of the owners) where my friend has been. He couldve left it at “no, he no longer works here” however he continues and says “we cleaned house at the start of the year because some people werent doing their job”.
This owner has missed pay days because he decided to blow his money frivolously, whether it was on an expensive trip for himself or on plastic storage bins that the business didnt really need. There has been times canyon has been closed because the owner didnt order enough cheese. The owners cant even afford rent on this space sometimes because of poor business practices. Oh and lets not forget why they had to shut down last spring due to at least 12 health code violations! This is information I have gathered from MULTIPLE employees over the last year and a half and I am beyond disgusted by the lack of respect this owner has for his employees.
This owner had the audacity to place blame on a disabled veteran like that when I know damn well that he is the lazy waste of space and the real reason canyon is failing. I will never give this business my money again if this is how theyre going to treat disabled veterans. Have the day you...
Read moreI loved this place. Solid pizza at a reasonable price with on time deliveries accompanied by quality employees. It wasn’t until I received a callback after placing an order from one particular man who proceeded to tell me he refused to deliver my pizza. In the 15+ pizzas I’ve ordered previously, I always tipped with what money I had or electronically through my card. After this specific man delvivered me two previous pizzas that I tipped for, I wasn’t able to tip him on his third delivery because I had used my friend’s card and had no cash. This is the same man who now refused to deliver my pizza because he didn’t receive a tip that one time. What an immature and unfair reaction from someone who is supposed to be representing canyon. Fire this “manager”, what a joke; an embarrassment to what would be a solid pizzeria.
Response: As I CLEARLY stated in my initial review, I used my friend’s card. I didn’t feel ok with charging a tip on the spot without his approval and that is why I did not tip this one given time. One time I don’t tip for a legitimate reason and just because I said “nah I’m good” means I’m banned from receiving deliveries from this guy. Paying for a pizza and not tipping one time= banned from receiving deliveries. Providing proficient funds and being denied service because a man was upset he wasn’t tipped is possibly the most ludacris thing I have ever heard. That is the most corrupt and unfair service I have ever witnessed, let alone fallen victim to. Yea I applaud the manager for standing up for himself being the most rude delivery man I have ever had the...
