I stayed at Hyatt Place State College in September 2025, and unfortunately the experience fell far short of Hyatt standards.||||First, the laundry service listed on the Hyatt website and even advertised in my room (complete with a laundry bag and price sheet) simply does not exist. When I asked about it, staff acted like my request was unreasonable. This was embarrassing and misleading — if it’s not offered, it should not be advertised.||||Second, the in-room phone never worked, meaning I had to physically go to the front desk every time I needed something. Over a two-week stay, this became very frustrating.||||Third, my room was missing the standard “Do Not Disturb / Make Up Room” sign that I saw on other doors. Housekeeping never noticed or replaced it, so I had no way to communicate preferences without yet another trip to the lobby.||||The biggest issue was housekeeping, which was inconsistent and unreliable. The first week, my room was cleaned daily (despite being told service only started after the second night). The second week, cleaning stopped unless I specifically requested it — and even then, sometimes it was done, sometimes not. On my last night, my room was left uncleaned, with wet towels and unemptied trash. To make matters worse, housekeeping actually came to my room the morning of my checkout asking if I wanted cleaning — which was almost laughable at that point.||||The only positive I can note is that the room was spacious and the bed comfortable — but at rates ranging from $130 to $400 per night, that should be a given.||||Overall, this property feels like “just a bed” with Hyatt branding slapped on. The lack of services, poor housekeeping, and misleading amenities made my stay frustrating. I cannot recommend this hotel, and I will not be...
Read moreI chose this hotel based on prior reviews and was completely disappointed with my stay. Jarod, at the desk, was helpful in the end but I had to approach the staff several times before the issue was resolved. Our first night we had to call housekeeping bc our sheets were covered with hair!!! The supervisor on duty was so aghast that she took pictures. The second day, our room was not serviced while we were gone so we had to go ask for toilet paper and garbage bags to clean the room ourselves. I’ve never in my life had this issue before in any hotel I’ve ever booked!!! I was told by the supervisor I’d receive a discount but when I received my bill it did not reflect a discount. That’s when Jarod stepped in and worked w me to try to make things right. Oh, the night supervisor tried to make it right by not charging me for a bag of chips worth $3 which were overpriced to begin with. It was a little insulting. But I was dead tired and had no energy to explain how insulted I felt so I smiled and figured I’d deal w it later. In all, most of the staff, tried to be accommodating but it just didn’t work. The other drawback to this hotel is the parking. There are only 2 parking spots for check in so you’re allowed 5 minutes to go to the second floor to check in, go back and load all your luggage, and take it to your room and then return to car to drive across the street to park and walk back over. And for all this you get to pay them $11 a day!! Fingers crossed it isn’t raining while you’re checking in. On the bright side, it is a good location, and the breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel!!! No standard mini muffins, etc. Good hot food and...
Read moreI booked 3 nights at this hotel. My room was big and my bed was comfy. The included breakfast had a good amount of hot options (eggs, potatoes, bacon, pancakes, and more). The staff was also really friendly and were able to help me solve an issue with the supplied printer in the lobby. So what went wrong?
In short, the shower. The first night I got in, I hopped in the shower. Lukewarm water. So I went down to the hotel and asked if they could fix it, as I was headed out for a little bit. The next time I showered was in the morning, and the water was still cool. So I said something again. I was out all day, and when I came back late at night, hopped in the shower... it was cold again. The next morning I woke up sick, took another cold shower (which felt horrible with a cold), and told the desk clerk for the third time. She asked if I was going to be in the room, and when I said no, she said she would send someone up right away to fix it. When I got back that night, there were things moved around near the shower. Towels hung up differently, shower head moved. Surely they fixed it this time. Nope. Another cold shower that night and the next morning.
Either maintenance isn't doing their jobs or the Hyatt simply doesn't care. Either way, I'm not likely to book this hotel again. Will definitely stick with Days Inn next time, even though it's a little old. At least I can count on a hot shower there. I spent 8 days in a third world country earlier this year and had hot water every day there, so there's really no excuse for Hyatt. Just terrible,...
