Chicken Shack Sterling Heights Vandyke — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

Just like others have already said My Family has been loyal customers of The Chicken Shack on 16 & Vandyke Ave. For many years they have always had great customer service and awesome Food. The last few times we decided to order we have been less than impressed with both the food and service. It been like that the last 3 or 4 times ordering something. First off we always order broasted potatoes with extra butter but didn't get it but that's not the worst of it at all . The potatoes have been either very hard and under cooked or they were not fresh like they used to be. Today we ordered 2 sides of them and ordered extra butter again but they didn't even have the regular amount of butter they usually do and we absolutely didn't get any extra on the potatoes or on the side plus they were very hard like they were under cooked or old again.. They are hardly even edible . The chicken bites haven't been the same as before either. They seem like they are also under cooked and or old ones. This has been every time we have ordered from them in the past 4 months or so. I don't recommend this location until something drastically changes . I have waisted $40 of my hard earned money several different times hoping it will be better every time but it's actually gotten worse..

I grew up on Chicken Shack and have ate it my entire life. They have gone down hill and are absolutely horrible now days in my opinion. Their food how continuously gone down hill year after year and is just straight trash now! My wife and I ordered their 9 piece shrimp meal and 5 piece cod meal to split. The shrimp were small and not worth the $16.95 at all! The cod was tiny little pieces of perfectly uniformed size and again not worth the $14.99. Their breasted potatoes were barely cooked and just seemed to blanched and then bathed in butter, not fried in the slightest bit. There condiments (tartar/cocktail) are just prepackaged garbage now. I remember when the cod appeared to be hand cut and battered or at least it appeared to be because ever piece was a unique shape and size, and the tartar and cocktail sauces appeared to be made in house. I’m sad to say that they have officially lost a customer because they have degraded their product to a point that I will no longer give them my business. You’re better off going to one of the many other fried chicken and fish places around town. If I’m being honest you can find a better product at a gas...

I placed a order for my team at work that was around $85. They ended up forgetting a part of the order, no big deal just get a refund on that portion, right?

I talked to one of the cashiers they asked if I could come back. That wasn't an option since I lose money every time I leave work to grab something. I just wanted a refund for the price of the missing meal. They hand it over to the manager, the manager told me am I sure it's missing. I told her yes and explained what I received. She said that's impossible she packed it herself and why would she put the sauces in the bag and forget the meal. She said if I even wanted them to remake the food I had to bring everything back up there, because she didn't believe me. You know the food for like 5 people on my team, I already passed out.

So she ends up putting me on hold for 10 minutes, cashier picks up again, back on hold, she picks up again saying she talked to the owner no refunds I can get that particular meal for free but I have to come in, in less than a week.
