My family and I were invited here for a birthday dinner for our cousin. Myself, boyfriend and our 5 children were the first to arrive. Upon arrival, the hostess said " how many" I told her what we were here for ( the karaoke room), and proceeded to say, " you didn't pay any money"...I politely said that we were guests and I know nothing about that, so we were instructed to wait til the rest of the party got there.the bathrooms were DISGUSTING. No paper towels, all trash cans over flowing , including the little trash cans in the stall over flowing with feminine products and tissue. (I told the hostess and she said ok, but even when we left they never cleaned it) Within 10 minutes everyone showed up, and there was a different group of people in the room we were supposed to have. We were (all 20 of us) were put in regular seating amongst other customers and told we will eat here until the room became available and then we would be moved. ( that never happened) . The staff was so unorganized it was mind blowing. The hostess came around to gather everyone's drink orders which was a challenge in itself. We waited 15 mins for drinks, and while waiting another lady came around and asked everyone what drinks they wanted AGAIN. We simply said, we've already placed our order, she rolled her eyes went to another member of our group asked them the same question and they told her we already placed our drink order and she walked off. At this point, every one is eating. The food wasn't bad. But wasn't great. Nobody came around to pick up our dirty plates, some of us took our own dirty plates and found the cart for dirty dishes and put them in there to make room on the tables we were eating at. Furthermore, the hostess came back around and started asking how we were splitting the bill. ( not how is everything, not to pick up plates, not asking if we wanted refills) Everyone told her how the bill was going to split. A few mins later, another lady came around asking how we were paying. At this point I'm annoyed. I said " since the moment we walked thru the door yall have been asking about money, you haven't picked up a single plate or asked about refills, we've already done all of this with the other lady" she laughed and walked away. (Leaving all the dirty dishes of 20 people still on the table that were being stacked up around us) the hostess lady then comes back with the bills for us. During this time, my boyfriend is holding our daughter while the lady has her knee on his chair preventing him from sitting down, which lasted a few mins. Our cousin paid for 2 adults, 2 drinks and his bill was $58 and some change, while 2 other cousins had the same thing, but they had a different price on their bill. My bill was 1 adult ( my boyfriend didn't eat bc he wasn't happy with how things were), and 5 children. Two 2 year Olds, a 9, 10 and 11 year old, 5 drinks. My bill was $100. They charged the kids by AGE. $12 and some change for the 9yo, $13 and some change for the 10yo, and $15 and some change for the 11yo. And $2 and some change per 2yo. They put on a service fee of 15% for gratuity, but there was no service provided since I already explained that part prior. I paid my bill, but didn't tip bc they try to make you double tip and service was horrendous. After we paid, we went to leave and there was about 30 people standing at the exit preventing us from leaving ( fire hazard). We had to push ourselves thru just to leave this establishment. This place is a SCAM. No set pricing, no hospitality, no organization. We will never be back. Other members of our group said the same thing. Overall. Bad experience. Do...
Read moreWe stopped going for awhile because the inside was falling apart. The state of the booths and tables was a HUGE turn off. Even though the food was always decent, going out is a luxury in this economy and the atmosphere needs to be just as enjoyable to me.
Tonight we decided to give it another try because was I was craving their vegetable lo mein. I came on here to check the recent reviews and see what I could expect before going in. Not going to lie - I was nervous as there is definitely some negative ones. We drive over 40 minutes one way to eat here when we do so I didn't want to be disappointed.
I'll start off by saying - I am SOOOOO happy to see they fixed up the interior! It looks so much better with the new booths. Kudos to finally making that decision! My comfort level was already increased when we sat down. Food was 100% on point tonight. Zero complaints in that department. Fresh, delicious, and everything my belly was hoping for. Service was ok. She didn't offer refills, was WAY to quick to snatch the cash tip off the table (literally the second my boyfriend put it down) and make it uncomfortable clearing the dishes taking things you don't normally take until people are gone from the table. Napkins, silverware on the table, ect. Reaching over us and staying there for what felt like and eternity while we were talking doing so. Wait until we leave please. You just take the plates we put at the end of the table.
We also noticed the price was $20.99 on the bill, but $17.99 on the board. When we got up we seen it was because we were charged for the all you can eat crab legs. Now let me tell you about these all you can eat crab legs.... you're lucky if you see any. My boyfriend waited and watched the entire meal for them to come out. The 1st time they did we were there they were gone in an instant. People piled their plate with them. The 2nd time was at the end of our meal and he was already full and wasn't going to get any and was already bummed and frustrated. So I went up and got in the line that was already formed for them and grabbed one. I grabbed one single crab leg, because he was full after all, and we were just going to let our kids experience it and let him have a taste and I didn't want to take more than we'd eat with the obvious demand of them. That justified to them adding the upcharge to BOTH our meals. For ONE single crab leg. My boyfriend was rightly angry and said something at the counter. I am super appreciative of the gentlemen who was working because he took the charge off and seemed understanding.
My boyfriends idea is they need a better system for the crab legs. Like that tables need to put in an order for them and they go out to each table in certain amounts vs being at the buffet so that everyone gets a chance to have some. Ecspecially if you're tacking on such a higher price on the bill for them. You should also be aware of who at the table is eating them before adding them to every person as well.
Overall we were pleased, love the inside being spruced up, loved the food, loved the staff correcting their mistake. Agree these servers still need work on their mannerisms and the crab legs need a better system.
We'll be back though. Can't keep me away from that...
Read moreA staff worker came around the resturant asking if anybody lost a pair of keys. He was holding it so tight that I could not really see it. I said, "No". Then he left to go somewhere else. I thought, "I better double check." I did and noticed I did not have my keys in my purse. My husband called the staff member back and said, "Sir, let me see the keys." He would not let us see the key but asked what kind of car we had and what color it was. I refused to tell him but my husband later told me that he told the staff member what color our luxury vehicle was and what kind it was. Another staff member followed my husband out to my suv and my husband showed him our vehicle. The staff member still did not give us the car keys. I did not see all of that because I was in the resturant not knowing what to do, scared of the cops being called. I started praying and calling on Jesus out loud as we are Christians and at that moment, all I knew to do was pray before I did something I would regret.
My husband called the cops. It took a while before the cops came. The whole resturant got quiet watching as I was calling on Jesus out loud. When the staff saw the cops outside, I went to them outside along with a staff member. The remaining staff inside staff were calling me, "Ma'am, ma'am" (to hold me back from taking to the officers) as I headed outside to the officers as well but I went to the officers to tell them what happened. The female officer told the staff member to go back inside, that she wanted to hear me first. There was a female cop and a male cop. I told her what happened and that I feel discriminated against. I told her that if I am paying my money to an establishment and they ask if someone lost a key, at least hold it to where the person can see if it is theirs. I told her that I worked for everything I have (I worked my way up from a housekeeper to a supervisor and have an income of six figures) and that I worked my way up. She told me she believes me and that's amazing.
She asked me what car do I have and I told her. She returned the key to me.
The staff member told her they have to know whose car it is in order to return it to them. My thing is, my husband SHOWED THEM OUR VEHICLE and he still refused to give us the key.
I felt discriminated against as a black woman and they did not believe I could afford a luxury vehicle.
Well, calling on the name of Jesus worked because there were no problems from the officers! They believed me...
