I'm going to preface this by saying I am a larger guy, and I order from this store on Doordash quite a bit. Mostly because I often don't have the energy to make food on my own and I don't always feel good enough to go out in public. Unfortunately today has just underlined why I do this.
I came to this location to get some lunch with my friends before getting groceries for New Year's Eve. When I was making my order they asked for my name. Personally something I'm not fond of in general but it is something you have to deal with in a lot of fast food places nowadays. When I was going to my seat, a manager, a shorter lady with glasses and a ponytail asked if I was "the Saul". Not discreetly, but out in the open in the store, which had about 2-3 groups of other people in it. I understand that my name would come up often when I ordered there, but to directly call me out when I'm there with my friends is completely out of line. She continued in a loud voice saying that I must "order 8 times a week" and she couldn't understand how I could afford to eat there this often.
I'm going to direct this next bit directly to this lady. How dare you publicly call out one of your customers like this. I was mortified and so were my friends. I like to believe people generally have a good sense of people skills in any customer facing job, especially one who has to manage employees. Evidently this was somehow missed when you were considered for this position. The only reason that I didn't walk out just then was because I was there with my friends and I, unlike you, did not want to cause a scene. Afterwards my friends mentioned that you did this to them before, even mentioning when they were out at a concert that you saw and that they're "attached at the hip". That tends to happen when you're dating someone. No one goes to a fast food place to get singled out. We are not friends, we are not acquaintances, we just order food from you. The least we expect is for you to do that in a timely and polite manner, and evidently the least we expect is a bar too high for you.
I know this won't affect the bottom line of this store, but I will no longer order food from you, either by Doordash or in person. That you would think this is acceptable behavior is baffling. I guess you don't have to worry about how I can afford your...
Read moreEdited: I went back to this place. Thought I would give it another shot. (See my original review below)
We ordered on the app and then showed up a half an hour later for our food and then had to sit and wait another 20 mins. What's the point of ordering ahead and setting up a pick up time if they aren't going to actually start making them until you get there? Very poor service with the timing.
This place is starting to get the reputation around town of being very slow. Now this is coming from someone who likes the subs here. I just hope they get their act together soon.
.... Original Review:
Let me say right away that I really enjoy the Steak and Cheese sub here a lot. But I'm very concerned about the time it takes this place to make one sub. It was not busy one group of 3 eating in the dining room and 3 of us waiting for our orders. It took them 18 mins after I paid for my order. That's one sub mind you. The orders in front of me were for single subs as well and they all ordered while I was in line.
Now I know this place just opened here but this is the second time they have taken such a long time for a simple order. I'm really hoping they get it together soon, because I like the food a lot (the brownies are yummy too). But I'm afraid this issue with the wait times at a fast food place are going to stop people from...
Read moreStopped in on Saturday January 7th for lunch. It was arguably busy, but the staff that day handled the situation amazingly. They were kind to every customer, quickly put out hot fresh subs to all guests, and ensured each and every order was correct. It would have been easy to be stressed and get frazzled, but they remained calm, cool, and collected the whole time. You don't always get great service these days, but the team that day definitely deserves some kudos in how they handled themselves and their business. Will continue to be a loyal customer when we are...
