Olympia Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Stevens Point

We have a family of 5 and were placed at a small table, despite the restaurant being fairly empty and us asking for a bigger table. We created more room for ourselves by removing all the condiments and coffee cups. The service was subpar and slow. Part of our meal was forgotten until we reminded the server of it when she "checked" on us. The food was ok. My husband had the 1/2 rack of BBQ ribs, which he stated were not good because they were just ribs with a blob of BBQ sauce on them. However, he said the shrimp that came with the platter tasted great. The gyro plate tasted great, but I was overcharged for it (which they fixed when I pointed the issue out). The kids meals were fine (pancakes, hamburger, and onion rings) and they loved the chicken dumpling soup. Overall, the bill came to almost $61, which I feel was not worth it for the price. Olympia Family Restaurant was an unexpected surprise while traveling home after the Oshkosh airshow. *This place KNOWS how to do comfort food!

Since it was well into Dinner time I opted to have the Gyro, not fully understanding the challenge that decision would create for me.... There was so much food! Main course, soup, salad, side of hashbrowns were all part of the included meal, and then a bread basket to share. I honestly couldn't even fathom eating everything completely, but it was all very good food.

I left Olympia Family Restaurant uncomfortably full because the food was good and there was a plethora of it. Considering the prices you get your money's worth and then some. A few days ago, we were in the Stevens Point area visiting. Before coming to your restaurant, we read the reviews & liked what was said. However, when we arrive at the restaurant, the waitress didn't greet us & when she went to seat us, she didn't ask if we wanted a table or booth. As she started to sit us at a table we suggested to her that we would like a booth. She walked us over to the booth, went to get silverware & threw it on the table. At that point I asked if all was well. She said yes with a scowling look. The four of us was so disappointed that we got up and left the restaurant. Personally, her job is not a good fit for her.
