First off, food, best Mexican food in Stillwater, but that’s the only good thing I have to say.
I eat here at least once every 2 weeks, and sometimes more often. So I’m a pretty frequent flyer. For some reason I can never get Togo orders right. Forgetting queso, forgetting entire taco entrees. Orders taking 20+ minutes after the estimated time of readiness. Being completely ignored as you wait for extended times. Their pick up service flat out sucks. The thoroughness for Togo orders is vastly different compared to dinning in. Even after returning to pick up a taco entree that was forgotten, there was no apology and little effort to appease the mistake. Food was made hastily and shoved out the door.
It should be a disgrace to serve tacos without even the option of a lime included in your meal. As result I’ve gone to Walmart and bought a bottle of lime juice that way when they forget the limes, I still have an option. But the principle of the point being I shouldn’t have to keep back up lime juice, which is not the same as normal fresh lime.
Again, if the food itself wasn’t so good, I’d never step foot in the building again. I’ve had to take breaks from this location due to their service, but the food itself is worth the abuse you go through to get the...
Read moreI want to start by saying the food at La Carreta is good — the tacos, carnitas, and shrimp ceviche are delicious. This could easily be a 5-star Mexican restaurant for the area.
Unfortunately, my last visit was very disappointing. The service from the younger waitstaff was terrible — they seemed indifferent, inattentive, and unprofessional. While we were waiting for our food, it was clear that the waiter and hosts were more focused on a group of intoxicated college students nearby than on the table they were serving. Our food took a long time to arrive, and the manager on duty had to step in to take over.
Although the manager offered a small discount to make up for the delay, it was frustrating to see the original waiter leave a large tip despite poor service. Coming from Los Angeles, this level of service and professionalism would be unacceptable.
Sadly, because of this experience, I don’t think I’ll be returning. If you do visit, double-check your receipt and make sure the staff is attentive — the food is great, but the service can be very...
Read moreI usually don't leave poor reviews , but I feel compelled to share my recent experience. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we were being treated differently — and not in a good way. We were served salsa that had an overwhelming amount of salt, making it nearly inedible. It tasted like someone had accidentally poured salt directly into it. The server appeared nervous and avoided engaging with us, which made us uncomfortable. Our drink refills were significantly delayed, and several of our orders were either wrong or completely forgotten. Sadly, it’s hard not to feel like we were treated this way because of our race. While I hope that’s not the case, the difference in how other tables were treated compared to us was noticeable and disheartening. Everyone deserves respectful service regardless of background. I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident, but it’s worth mentioning so the restaurant can reflect and make changes where needed. Very...
