Had bought a pair of pants for my daughter to wear for work and after wearing them she realized they were too big. We went to exchange the pants and when we tried to they told us they couldn't exchange the pants because they did not have tags. The lady then left and came back and said no we can't exchange them without the tag's and have they been washed and my daughter stated yes and she replied then we definitely can't take them. They had a sign on the register that stated their return policy which was for returns with receipt within 90 days. For returns without a receipt or after 90 days. There was other conditions listed but none of the conditions stated that tag's had to be present and the pants could not be washed. It also has the same conditions listed on the back of the receipt and I did point these conditions out to the sales person who still said they couldn't be exchanged and she never did ask for the receipt. I went ahead and bought her another pair of pants that she needs for work, but since this company can't uphold their own return policy this will be the last item I...
Read moreWe were looking for a pair of funeral appropriate pants for my father who deals with pain from a chronic illness. When I finally found someone who works at the store, a tall caucasian man with brown hair, we asked for help and he let us know that he could not help us in any way because this was not "a personal shopping location". He didn't even point us in the vague direction of the pants section. At this point, my father who was already in emotional and physical pain walked out of the door, which is what I should have done instead of thanking them politely and leaving. I've never experienced such condescending behavior and lack of assistance before in my life.
For the man we encountered, should he read this: You do not know what someone else may be experiencing in life and you should consider being more attentive, kind, and helpful to others.
A side note: the feedback option on Belk.com returns a link that returns as "javascript:void(0)", Belk is a mess and we will be letting others know not...
Read moreWhile shopping for an Easter dress the dressing rooms were covered in clothes to the point you had to clean out at least 30 items before you tried your own on.
While my mother was trying on clothing one of the workers made the statement to her colleague that was standing in the middle of the store at the register that “I don’t understand why people grab 20 items when they aren’t gonna buy them.” Then the whole time we were in the waiting room the worker kept coming in and signing and rolling her eyes when a new customer hing their clothes on the return rack.
News flash! You work in a clothing store. That is how that goes. I felt as someone who also works in retail that it was very distasteful to be bashing and bad mouthing the customers out in the open for everyone to hear. Very unprofessional.
I should have taken a photo of the room before my mom changed but I didn’t realize we were going to be bashed while shopping for an...
