The Great White Buffalo Tavern — Restaurant in Stillwater

Absolute worst place I’ve ever been in bar wise. I’ve been here countless times with both my parents and friends and the most frequent time the “bouncer” thought my out of state ID was fake so she bent and broke it. Her as well as the other bouncer thought they knew more about Florida IDs than my mother who worked at the Florida DMV for many years. Then proceeded to tell her how the ID operates as well as how they break and that mine wasn’t a valid form. Even though she continued to try to explain to them that I was indeed of age and that Florida IDs bend exactly where mine broke. Then, the manager tried to offer me a beer to handle the situation after he would call the Florida DMV and run my ID. When I explained how I don’t even drink and how I was just there to be a designated driver for my parents they all ignored everything. So apparently the “well-knowledged” people at GWB know exactly how all IDs work throughout the entire country. A direct quote from one bouncer was “I had a friend who was from Florida and his ID didn’t break like this”. Adaquent knowledge he had apparently. I will not be going there ever again, nor will anyone I DD for, we will gladly take our considerate business elsewhere. Now I have to order a new ID and won’t be able to buy anything or even legally drive for the two weeks that it will take for my ID to arrive. 0/10 do not recommend. I wish that I could give zero stars. Far warning, if you’re a person of color or ethnic minority this is not the place you want to go in Stillwater. Last night, they hosted a comedy show that got progressively worse and problematic as the comedic rotation continued. They relied on racist stereotypes and assumptions about minorities, to tell jokes. Making them not really funny at all, with their low hanging fruit of “humor.” The closer, ironically the worst of them all, a white lady with an unkempt pixie cut. Starts heckling the only black man, who wasn’t even American, in the establishment asking if he’s “a football player” so she “could have his babies and collect a check.” It was very obvious that she really did not know any Black people intimately before, only using them for cheap comedy. Finding no humor in any of her jokes, the only group of racially diverse people in the building swiftly exited, which should speak volumes of what was being said. Honestly, not terribly impressed. I guess drink prices were okay, but the register went down while we were there, and our group was more or less held hostage until it got up and running again. We offered to pay our tabs in cash, but were refused as they couldn't even pull up what drinks we had. Top it all off with the fact that one of the bartenders had an attitude about the situation, and the night went downhill fast. I can absolutely understand, it's frustrating when things don't go the way they're supposed to. But being rude to guests didn't get them anywhere, and only made us more irritated. No attempt to reconcile keeping us there was made outside of a shrug and "Sorry guys" from the owner who came out to fix the terminal.
