Update 4 years later, still the most consistently good steak in town!! I ordered as to-go this time.... We do the to-go for their other dishes (Ckn fried steak/chicken, burgers etc) fairly regularly but this was the first time we have tried ordering a large steak meal to-go.... Usually we do the birthday meal inside. I was a little leery of ordering a med-rare bone in ribeye meal for pick up, but my fears were unwarranted. It was closer to the rare side of med-rare, which is better as far as we are concerned. I would eat a rare steak before a med or well steak any day! Plus you can always throw it back in a skillet if its a big deal.... Anyway, as we were splitting it between the 2 of us I ordered both sides as the baked potato with butter and s.c. and a side salad a la cart... I was told the side salad wasn't larger than usual, well.... Compared to what we are used to getting inside it was about twice as big! I was glad I only got one! Everything was well packed, and still nice and warm by the time I got home with it. I will definitely not be leery of ordering steak to go from them again!! We ordered a dozen extra rolls as usual lol... We love those things more than dessert!
Original Review: 4 years ago One of my favorite places in town! Come for my birthday every year... I always have to take leftovers home lol... I will purposely order a bigger steak than I know I can eat just to eat cold the next day ... Call me weird lol... It's as good cold as it is fresh and hot. The cooks know what they are doing and what you order is what you get. I haven't had the issue of an overcooked steak yet lol... Med-rare with a warm pink center... Yuuummmmm ... We use the call ahead option a lot and it helps to get seated faster. When they are busy... They are always busy lol.. Its fun, great atmosphere and the kids love...
Read moreTonight I had a bit of a strange encounter, me and my loved one ordered an appetizer, more specifically: the cactus blossom. As we ate it, it had a bit of a strange taste and a lot of grease that left a pool underneath. We wanted to get it addressed, the rest of the food during the experience was great, and had to have a manager to come and talk.
The server manager came by to talk about it, which he was nice at first but kind of snappy at the end remark. He claimed that we should’ve known better on ordering a fried dish and that sometimes the grease gets ‘trapped’ in the onion layers. He then said we should order a different appetizer next time…
I work in the restaurant industry. I have worked in it for 4-5 years as a server and had my fair share of working with management, not only that but I cook well too in restaurant quality. I also worked at Outback Steakhouse for a bit and know how those onions are made, what the manager said was semi-true, but you can shake off excess oil easily, trust me. The batter also tasted off and funky, and normally I don’t say that food tastes “weird” or etc, I’m not picky and I have a good palette for taste. I don’t blame Texas Roadhouse because it is Saturday night and I know the cooks are in more of a rush, but didn’t appreciate the attitude the manager gave me when addressing my appetizer. Again, I’ve worked with management before, they don’t give customers a hard time based on a kitchen mistake. Our server Madelyn treated us well though and accustomed to my...
Read moreWe went to the one in Stillwater the filet was extremely fatty and cooked rare and I ordered medium - I wanted cheese but no bacon on my baked potato so they charged me an extra $1.50 for a loaded baked potato even though I didn't want the bacon. Guess what?! You guessed it my potato came with bacon which was hard to take off because it was mixed in with the cheese and sour cream. (By the way-they didn't put any butter on the potato, I guess in Stillwater they confuse the butter and bacon because they both start with B) I couldn't get anything fixed because we were seated back in an area with 2 person tables (not a big table means not a big tip - so you don't get service) He only came back to bring our check. (I asked for a to go box) We never got peanuts, only 2 ice cold rolls when we were seated and no drink refills not to mention I couldn't eat my steak because it was raw and extremely fatty. (A filet is a very lean piece of meat - that is why you pay more for it) Not to mention the problems with the potato. STAY AWAY FROM THIS TEXAS ROADHOUSE. THIS WASN'T EVEN DINNER. IT WAS 4:30. My dogs enjoyed the steak. But I got ripped off because I paid nearly $25 (by the time I paid $1.50 for a loaded baked potato that wasn't loaded $2 for a 12 oz glass of tea with no refills and for what was supposed to be a great steak meal.) I ended up eating corn, apple sauce and warming up my potato after I got...
