A Fantastic Dining Experience at Hacienda Bar and Grill
If you’re in the Stockbridge/McDonough area and craving authentic Mexican food in a welcoming atmosphere, Hacienda Bar and Grill — Jodeco is a must-visit. From the moment we walked in, the experience was outstanding—spotless surroundings, friendly staff, and delicious food.
The cleanliness of the restaurant impressed me, and the employees were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. A special shout-out to Emmanuel, the greeter, and our server, Meshell, who made our visit even more enjoyable. Their excellent service ensured we’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be bringing friends!
Our decision to dine here came after an uncomfortable encounter at Chipotle across the street. My friend and I, both retired for over a decade, stopped in there first. But after feeling oddly watched by the cashier (who seemed to follow us after I pointed out the drink station to my friend), we decided to leave. The vibe was just off, so we crossed the street, walking to Hacienda—and what a difference!
From the warm welcome to the immediate service (they brought chips, salsa, and water right away), everything was perfect. The food was flavorful and plentiful—we even had leftovers to take home. The silverware, plates, and overall presentation were top-notch, reminding me of the upscale Mexican restaurants I’ve enjoyed in Sacramento.
If you’re choosing between Chipotle and Hacienda, skip the former and head straight here. The atmosphere, service, and food are in a completely different league so we gave over 40% of a well-deserved tip. Trust me—you...
Read moreJust ate here this evening and it was not what I remembered from many years ago. This was only my second visit, but I guarantee it was also my last. I can't speak much on the atmosphere, as my wife and I sat outside. But, the cheap wobbly plastic tables and chairs are certainly outdated. The service was mediocre, at best. Our server was young, but that's no excuse for her lack of training or customer service. Her attire was definitely not professional for a done in restaurant, wearing socks and Crocs that both displayed pot leafs. That stuff just screams "I don't care...". She wanted to argue with me that she "watched them make my food". She may have seen them take it out of the microwave, but she couldn't have seen them cooking it, because it wasn't cooked today. I couldn't have made a scrambled egg sandwich in the time that she left our table from taking our order till the time she came back with my enchiladas and my wife's tacos. It's not that I expect five star food from a restaurant in stockbridge, but I was hoping for at least three star food. I could've gotten better food and service from taco bell....I regret choosing this place for dinner tonight. Our server did offer to bring me something else after I told her how awful my food was when she asked, but I wasn't trying anything else after the mess I received and the less than desirable tacos my wife got. Best thing we had tonight was the over priced and under melted cheese...
Read moreLet me start by saying I have eaten at La Hacienda for 17 years. I did love their food, service, and prices.
That said, I had a somewhat traumatizing experience today. One of my sons and I had ordered our food and were eating chips and salsa when something got hung in my throat. At first I thought it might be a pepper stem because that has happened to me before. After trying to cough it up, I reached down my throat and fortunately was able to pull it out.
It was a 2 inch long piece of wire that you might find on a grill brush. Think about that for a moment. Thankfully it did not go too far down. I would have been in the hospital. I may still have to go if I swallowed one unknowlingly.
You can believe me or not. That is up to you. But, you have lost your mind if you go to this restaurant and eat. There are too many other options instead of risking...
