I must say it took me way too long to give this place a try. Now that I have, I will definitely be a regular customer. The customer service was amazing. I placed a call in order. I let the young man on the phone know it was my first time trying and he was so friendly and helpful in making suggestions. When I arrived I was greeted by the owner and she was also very friendly. I arrived early for my food so as I waited we talked and she answered all my questions about the history of this building and the restaurant before. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that she took the time to engage with me. Now to the main attraction...the food!! It was absolutely amazing. I ordered the meatloaf with mash potatoes and collard greens. I also ordered the fried pork chops with mac and cheese and yams. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I have absolutely no complaints. Everything had that homemade taste like Sunday dinners at grandma's house. You could feel the love put into making the food. The portion sizes were very generous. The prices are also very reasonable considering the portions you get and the taste of the food....you are definitely getting your money's worth. I can't wait to go back. I actually would have went back today but they are closed on Sundays. IT WAS JUST THAT GOOD! I will definitely be eating here again....the flavors have me wanting to try everything on the menu. If you are thinking about trying this place the answer is....YES... you must try it as soon...
Read moreI love history and culture...Along with excellent tasting food and phenomenal customer service. Green Front Cafe delivers all of the above! I was scheduled to have lunch with a friend today, and when searching the mid-point for us to meet, Stockbridge was it. I Googled "Best Restaurants in Stockbridge" and this spot popped up. I checked the menu and website, and was sold! From the time I walked in and received a friendly, warm welcome, to the end when my to-go orders were packed up (yes, my dine-in experience was so great, I ordered meals to take back to my business appointment in Atlanta)...AMAZING! For dine-in, I had oxtails, rice & peas, and cabbage. My friend had the fried fish with fried okra and rice & peas. The food was absolutely delicious and the customer service was as well. The owner shared the history of the restaurant and spoke fondly of the nearby church and the community...It made this more than a lunch experience -- It was rich in history and culture...Very meaningful. I left and called to tell several others about this great gem I found -- One person being my sister, who is flying in next weekend. She wants to go...So, I'll be back next weekend to experience this goodness all over again! I love Green...
Read moreI have patronized this restaurant for the last couple of months. The kitchen staff is nice and the owner is very nice. The reason for the 2 stars is the young cashier of the restaurant. I called last week and asked could I place my order over the phone because I couldn't do an online order. I was on my lunch break at work and I didn't have time to wait for them to cook the order. The young lady told me "No I couldn't order over the phone". I told her ok and went to chick fil a instead. On Sunday I went into the restaurant and the young cashier was working the register....I aske could I order 2 pieces of only chicken and I would be willing to pay whatever they charged. She once again said "No I have to order a whole meal". Once again I said ok and left ans ordered at another restaurant. That was 2 times in a week that they lost a potential sell because of the cashier. She was nice and I don't know if she was taking orders from the owner but it will be a while...
