Delta Bistro & Lounge — Restaurant in Stockton

This was my first sit-down meal experience at this restaurant. We were seated right away and quickly given water, however, it took a while before our server came to get our drink orders. After receiving our drinks, it took a while before we got our order taken. The restaurant was not busy, so I didn't understand the long wait periods.

It was a Friday during Lent, so I ordered the grilled salmon with the sweet chili sauce on the side, along with the clam chowder. As an appetizer, we ordered the grilled artichoke to start. The artichoke was a good size and prepared well. It was tender and you could taste the smokiness of the grill. Absolutley delicious! The clam chowder was like wallpaper paste. It was thick and gloppy; not very good. The salmon was nothing spectacular. It was a tail portion, grilled all the way through (I prefer mine just slightly underdone), served over a bed of rice pilaf with broccolini. Pleasantly surprised! Stayed at the University Plaza while on a work trip and my group decided we’d eat in as the weather was so terrible. I got the chopped steak that was smothered in mushroom gravy with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli. This was $19 and it was absolutely delicious! Even came with a salad! Other people in the group got the shrimp and scallops and the fettuccine Alfredo. Everything was really good and fairly priced. The wait staff was very nice and professional. I would definitely come back here! The venue is really pretty too. Large windows overlooking a green outdoor area right next to the water, upscale feel. I have a mixed review. Setting is quiet, great views and friendly staff. We ordered fried calamari which was good. Husband ordered the Delta Burger. It was big, fresh and cooked as ordered with sweet potatoe fries. Very tasty. I ordered the sweet chili garlic salmon with cilantro lime rice and seasonal vegetables. Quite disappointed, it was served with plain white rice, bland frozen Normandy blend. Salmon was glazed with what seemed to be sweet chilli sauce out of a bottle.
