I usually do not bother to write reviews but the employees at the Lindt Chocolate store in Strathem, NH treated me with so much disrespect that I feel their behavior deserved some exposure.
I went to the Lindt store to buy some chocolates in early May before my overseas trip. A female cashier and another women appeared to be the supervisor were in the store. I filled two bags of truffles, brought to the cashier and told her that I would like to buy exactly 3 lbs. She weighed the bags and said the bags were about 4 lbs. I saw she didn't offer to reduce the quantity for me so I brought the truffles back to the original bin to dump some out and also weighed the two bags roughly on the store scale to make sure each bag was around 1.5 lbs. I took the two bags back to the cashier. They turned out to be overweight again by couple truffles. Again the cashier made no attempts to help to take the couple truffles out. I had to specifically ask if she could help to take the extra out and then she did so with unwillingness written all over her face. And then I made a big mistake by asking if I could take a few extra small plastic bags so that I could distribute the truffles to my friends. She only gave me a shrug and a scornful look as if I were a street begger. I bought a variety of things and this cashier was extremely slow entering the items the whole time. She had even bigger trouble when I tried to confirm with her each item's price after discount. After checking out, I immediately checked the receipt. Price for one item was off. The item was 60% off but she entered as 50% off. Since the cashier was attending to other customer, I told the female supervisor that the price on the receipt was wrong. So after the other customer left, both the cashier and the supervisor were putting their heads together to check the receipt. The supervisor even went over the whole bag of chocolates I bought again to make sure that I did not grab extra items. And then they both hovered in front of the computer trying to figure out how to revert the charge. The cashier even scornfully said to the supervisor right in front of me, "ha, only for 50 cents difference". Yes, it was only for 50 cents. But you wasted my time and disrespected me as your customer and discriminated me as an Asian minority. So I wanted my every penny back. I have been a loyal customer of this Lindt chocolate store for more than 15 years. But now Lindt lost me as your customer forever because these two extremely stupid and disrespectful employees at the store!
These two employees are the disgrace of the Lindt...
Read moreGreat array and selection of chocolate to chose from. The ambiance was quiet. A friendly staff member greeted us and offered a selected sample for tasting. We had ample time to look around and to chose what we wanted. We were the only customers at the store at this particular moment.
After paying for my purchase, I asked Debra D., the cashier that I would like to order a small cup of coffee and hot chocolate to go. She sighed and furiously replied back and said that I should have told her before and should have requested the drinks during my previous transaction because now, she will have to ring the cash register for a second time.
She made a big deal out of it. She turned on a sour attitude just because I ordered two hot drinks in addition, right after the completion of my first transaction. She was not pleased at all.
I was accompanied by my husband and children and they didn’t appreciate to see me being addressed under such a rude tone. It really doesn’t feel good to be treated that way especially after spending quite a considerable amount of money at the store. It was our first time and this interaction does not leave us with a good impression.
It was such an inconvenience for her to press a button and prepare 2 simple hot drinks that I paid almost $10 for.
If taking on an additional order, using a cash register, pouring coffee and hot chocolate into a cup is such a big ordeal for Debra, then working at Lindt Factory Outlet may not be the ideal place...
Read moreLindt does a wide range of GMO free chocolate products. Their own store often has killer deals and always has a wide range of products. The staff are very nice and very knowledgeable if you have questions about their products. We had one person with a dairy allergy, and one with a corn allergy. We learned that only the darkest chocolate don't have dairy, and only one product contained corn. They also have killer post season deals, we've bought post Christmas Santas, and post Easter bunnies before. Then there's odd things, like a two pound slab of cranberry bark, just as it was poured onto a tray, which we didn't buy. Not something you would see...
