This place is usually a go-to of mine for over a decade, which makes this review hard. I really like the atmosphere and people are friendly. Lately, it has been a hit or miss on the experience. Beer selection is good, TVs everywhere, people are engaged.. The unknown is with the staff and kitchen. I noticed today that I did not recognize any of the staff. Which was sad, I hope they are doing well. Unfortunately, I do not frequent as much post covid.
Anyways, today I wanted to get away and stopped in. I ordered wings that were clearly overcooked. I was hungry, so I ate what I could and pushed through. They would throw it in the trash anyway, and I would have to wait for the re-order. It was the wings where you had to get past the outer and the inside was edible. Then you immediately need to pick your teeth after, which I did. You never know what happens in the kitchen with complaints, so I will not ask for a re-order unless it is a main dish and costly. Anyways, the Christmas Vacation movie with Chevy Chase came to mind while eating these wings. It was not as bad as the movie where they were eating turkey dinner, but it was not good either. Nobody checked on me while eating. When she asked to collect the plate, I told the bartender that the wings were overcooked. She said that she would let them know. I saw her talk to someone near the kitchen and didn't hear back. The same bartender eventually asked if I would have another drink while watching the Browns game. I told her that it depends on if I am paying for the overcooked wings or not. I was still hungry, btw. She said I would pay, so I said no. She didn't ask if I wanted the check. Another bartender was walking by and asked the same, I asked for the check and went down the road to another place and ordered food and drink and watch the game. I now regret leaving a marginal tip as I recap what transpired.
The manager should have come over and talked to me and didn't. The bartender should have followed up with me and didn't. This is not the service and quality of food I expect. I probably should have been more pronounced and vocal, but I should not have to and I was already having a crappy weekend. I was afraid I was going to overreact. I just wanted to relax and enjoy the game.
Unfortunately, I will now only go here for the atmosphere and when other options are not feasible. It is sad really, this place was "the place" to enjoy and watch the Browns play that I have...
Read more9 dollars for a pint of Guinness that at retail is 1.79 ok not bad typical bar prices but the crowd and security is terrible.
We had a group come mid week , bought food and drinks all night, went to play pool on a table played a few games , bought quarters from the bartender to play and left them at the table. After a few games , we stop for a few minutes leave our money on the table. Come back another group is playing basketball on a machine next to us. No problem we mind our business and continue to play with our change left on the table A guy in their group comes over lies to us and tells us that's his change, and that they have the pool table and we're playing on it.
As you can imagine we knew they were looking for trouble and decided to ignore be polite and went to the bartender who we bought change from to let them know who's change it was and proof we were there and it's ours. She said she didn't want to get involved. What are we supposed to do? Have our money stolen from us and be kicked away from enjoying our time? We went back told them sorry but we're not going to let this group steal our money or try to lie and be rude to us for minding our own business, In turn the same guy who started the lies opened his wallet and tried to throw money and then a punch at our group. The gentleman he threw a punch at laughed it off because he missed and then we were told to leave even though the perpetrators were the other group.
Terrible management considering staff knew who was their who's money was used and ECT.
Id advise management to get better security and to not single out anyone when issues arise you basically kicked out someone who was minding their business rather then the people who were causing trouble.
Weeks later a friend came with me there bought drinks for people at the bar, and it seems a regular there tried starting a fight with a friend of ours. What on earth is the management or security doing there? Nothing
Needless to say we've stopped coming an try other local...
Read moreMy family and I visited the Strongsville location Saturday. I've been going there for years and love it -- the atmosphere, service, food are all routinely very good. I'm still giving it 5 stars even though our service from Olivia on Saturday was not great, though not all bad as she did check on us often to ensure everything was okay. First she brought our drinks, and knocked one of our parties drinks so that liquid spilled. She just said to be careful because it was spilled/wet. She didn't clean it up nor did she bring us extra napkins so we could clean up her mess. She asked me if I wanted another glass of wine and I accepted. She took my glass before I was done with my first so I had to say "Excuse me! I'm not done with that!" When she brought us our bills, one person in our party had a credit card out as well as a $20. Olivia asked, "Are you putting the tip on that as well (referring to the card)?" (Tacky) This person asked her if she could bring her four $5s for her $20. Olivia brings back three $5s and five $1s -- hoping to get a bigger tip. So not only did she not break the bill as asked by bringing four $5s, she was tacky and presumptuous about it, trying to intimidate us into a bigger tip. I always leave a tip (and I left her 20% even though I thought she was nervy assuming she was getting a tip), but for a server to even discuss a tip with the customer the way she did and bring back singles when it's not was asked was audacious. I love this place, but if I ever get her again, I'll ask to be seated elsewhere with a different server. Also my menu was wet in the lower left corner. I have no idea if it was a cleaning solution or...
