Moved from Jersey and was craving hibachi so I gave this place a try…… explain to me why I paid nearly $40 for this mess they call “chicken teriyaki”??? The chicken was plain as you can see in the picture. The teriyaki “sauce” was more like soup. The liquid just moves around like water if you tilt the container side to side. Too soupy for this to be called teriyaki. All of the vegetables were sitting at the bottom so the veggies were all mush. Normally the meal comes with white rice but I was craving noodles and was told noodles are an extra $6….. excuse me?? I understand paying $6 for extra chicken but $6 to substitute white rice for noodles is pretty steep. The noodles are plain too. They have more flavor than the chicken itself which is really disappointing to admit. I’m not even going to bother arguing with these people for money back even though I just feel like I got scammed pretty bad. Lesson learned. It’s just sad that they even call themselves hibachi and come out with food looking like it belongs in a prison. I ate at Benihana back in Jersey and also ate at this really nice hibachi place in hackettstown, NJ. Both places were on the pricy side as well but super worth it. This place doesn’t even compare. Idk if they were just having an off night but I don’t think it’s that difficult for a hibachi restaurant to cook something so common as chicken teriyaki. If they are already messing up classic popular dishes, I don’t even want to imagine what their specials...
Read moreWe are from new york. Just moved into town recently and it was my birthday weekend so me and my honey decided that we wanted to go out to eat and I wanted Hibachi so bad. I looked up and found great reviews about this place and my coworkers also had rave reviews about it. So we went without a reservation as it was only two of us. The young lady at the front was very kind and she told us that it would be about a 20 minute wait. Of course we expected some sort of wait as there we're at many people there yet. Most of the people that came in were already in a party of at least six to eight. So we waited about 25 minutes and then we were sad a few minutes later another party of about 7 came in and they were seated at our table. The chef was wonderful and even our table mates were great they sang me Happy Birthday and had ice cream with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle for free. I had the emperor's dish and my honey had chicken and scallops. Everything was delicious the service was wonderful and I can't wait to go again. My favorite thing about this restaurant specifically is the fact that you can have more than just eight people in your party the way that the restaurant is set up is that you can have up to about 16 to 20 people because the tables do connect on one side this makes for a beautiful time if you have a larger party or when family comes in town. Thanks so much for the wonderful experience we will see you soon with the...
Read moreThis place is not very good. We did hibachi here about a year ago and were disappointed. We went tonight and ordered off the regular menu and were disappointed again. The rest of this review will cover tonight’s experience.
One order was for seafood udon, and there was no seafood- seriously only 2 small pieces of scallop and no shrimp.
An order of teriyaki and a hibachi dinner were overloaded with sauce with underdeveloped flavor. The vegetable hibachi was a huge pile of crunchy veggies (very good), but the noodles were overcooked. Shrimp teriyaki, unlike the seafood udon, had quite a few shrimp. Again, the over saturation of sauces made both, well frankly, gross, and the flavor of both was merely ok.
Vegetable udon was good. No one was vegetarian. We just ordered a couple vegetable dishes.
All of the meals came out separately. Service couldn’t bring 2 simple rolls with the rest of the meals. From the time the first dish was served until the last, it was at least 15 minutes.
All told, for a group of 6, 4 entrees, 3 appetizers, 2 rolls, one martini, one beer and 2 pineapple juice it was just shy of $200 with the tip. I tipped 20% even though I probably should not have. The food is not good and nowhere near...
