Read moreWe arrived around 9:00 p.m. looking for a late dinner. The place was absolutely packed. Even better, it was packed full of Arabic speaking people, though I can't say what their nationality or ethnicity was otherwise. Though, when you eat ethnic food, finding a restaurant full of people from that part of the world enjoying their meals is a huge plus for how good a place is probably going to be. The ordering system was very simple, everybody got what they wanted, and we sat down to eat our meals.
Without question, this was some of the lightest most refreshing, most delicious food we have eaten in a long time. Whatever the white sauce is, it is delicious and we're glad our server put so much of it on because it really added to the meat and rice and vegetables.

I'm super excited to have leftovers tomorrow as the portion sizes were so great and the prices were very, very reasonable. The four of us all got platters, a bunch of side items, and it came to about $50. For food this good. I would have paid...
Read moreThis review is dedicated to the friendly and honest staff more than their amazing food. I can't remember the gentleman's name but I think it started with D. while leaving the restaurant, I had dropped a $20 bill and he ran out side to my car and handed me that cash. This says something about the character of the person. I offered him $5 for doing the right thing, but he refused to take it and told me "i'm not doing a favor, it your money my friend." He is a stand up guy and hats off to the dude, and other staff was also equally as great.
I'm from NYC and visiting friends in PA for a week. I tried this place yesterday with three of my friends. I've tried tones of the halal places in NYC, but shah's stands out with it's flavorful chicken.
If you're in Poconos this is a must try restaurant. it is priced perfectly. $10.99 for a massive platter which we ended up taking leftovers home and eating it as i'm writing...
