Came to this restaurant with my family it was a group of 5 adults. I had a bad experience here when it came to customer service. I ordered the Mr Jalapeño appetizer which came with quesadilla, flautas, cheese/chorizo and three wings. I asked the waiter to make my wings plain and he bought them with buffalo sauce. I told him that I asked for plain wings and he went back to put the order in. 30 minutes passed by and after talking to 3 servers and the host they never brought out the wings. I asked to speak to the restaurant manager so a lady came and said she was the shift manager. She came out very defensive when I explained the situation and I told her I spoke to 5 people about these 3 wings that have not been brought out. She said "don't exaggerate there are only three servers here". I said YOU are the 5th person I am speaking to I spoke to all 3 servers, the host and now you. After she was trying to correct me, my sister who is a restaurant manager chimed in and told her the mistakes that were being done. She ended up apologizing afterwards but with an attitude highly unprofessional! While I did mention how I understand that mistakes happen, it is unacceptable that it took me to speak to a manager to get my 3 wings. To fix the error she then did not charge me for my plate, and gave us a free desert. That does not fix the issue only one server aplogize which was the one that was not even assigned to our table which I appreciate. Then to top it off tip is included which explains why server's do what they want. Definitely won't be returning to this place, Customer Service skills need to improve and the staff needs to be coached and re-trained ! The only good thing was that the food and drinks taste amazing but the poor customer service from the staff is what made me come on here and give a two star review. I hope my review helps others, and looking at other reviews it seems like a lot of people have spoken about the poor customer...
Read moreMy fiancé and I have worked in restaurants for years. From night clubs to fine dining and the list goes on. I personally have worked in the food and beverage business for 10 years before my current profession. I am no stranger to not being tipped even when it is well deserved. My grandmother, fiancé and I went to dinner last evening. As soon as we sat down of course my 89 year old grandmother said she wanted to pay ( I thought to myself, oh no this poor waitress is thinking she is getting a two dollar tip ). Moving forward… the bill came. My Grandma got her credit card out to pay along with a $20.00 bill as a tip. She looked at the check and it said that the gratuity had been included. ( $12.00 ) My grandma said well gosh I was going to give her a $20.00 cash. I get it, in the servers mind it’s a gamble. I would rather get something than nothing… that aside , this is why I am really upset. 1.) The server never told my grandmother tip was included. How many others haven’t been told? It’s shady because in my mind shes thinking well, it is a win for me if she tips over. 2.) I have worked in enough establishments that I know very well that you can’t just “ add gratuity “ with out a larger party for instance. If they let every server “add gratuity” in a place with this price point, there would be a riot and everyone would loose their mind. It was thought out and she must have gotten a manager to approve it. 3.) Once the tab was cashed out, I watched the server watching us periodically but never came back over to say anything. She knew what she was doing and it was awkward. If you are going to add gratuity make it a think and don’t take advantage of people.
While I’m here writing a review….Food was not good. I was told there were no frozen drinks ( you don’t have a blender ? No frozen margaritas in a Mexican restaurant. Would try and work that one out. Lazy...
Read moreWanted some place different and have seen this around so we gave it a try. Food tasted pretty good overall but things were odd. The flour tortillas looked fresh made or could have been frozen, but were looking like they weren’t cooked through. Like, they were translucent, you can see light through them, as if plastic. They were not the white you expect. Odd but forgivable. Food took a while to come out and we were one of maybe 2 or 3 other tables at the time. Service was super slow and off, I asked for limes and got lemons. Big deal? Until those limes were for my very bland cocktail that needed lime juice and salt to pep up the flavors. Sign says happy hour every day, but server said that’s only on weekdays. That’s rather not nice. Food portions were either large or so so. We had the parrillada fajitas and it seemed overcooked. Also, some of the strips of beef had a very off flavor and I discounted it to think maybe it was seasoning but I felt nauseous that night and the next day I was experiencing abdominal pain and distress. NOT GOOD. After a few rounds of medication, I felt better the following day. We ordered a side of guac for our chips and it came out after we finished our chips and were told no more chips. The guac was brown around the edges.
I’m hoping the issues we experienced were luck of the draw but I’m really not sure we’ll go back to find out. I can look past bad service and odd food preparations but I cannot get past bad food being served.
Maybe a busy day will provide better food turnover? Regardless, can’t trust the kitchen.
The place looked cool, tho. Neat chairs and...
