I would like to start off by saying I have ate at Amichi’s for years! We always have a great experience and we always recommend this place to others that are new to the area. On the contrary, I am VERY displeased as to what conspired when we ate dinner here recently. Our go-to appetizer, Calamari, was over cooked and the Dijon sauce that is paired with it was ice cold. Our food came out luke warm, I’m thinking it was finished right after our appetizer was served and they waited to serve it to us. The risotto that was served with the seared scallops tasted very bland and like it was out of a can. Now, up until this point I had not complained about any of the food because I know how “off” nights can go when it comes to cooking. My complaint comes when my daughter did not like the mozzarella sticks she ordered. She’s younger so I broke them all in half and told her to go on and eat them. She took one bite and said they tasted weird. My husband, my son and I all tasted the same one and thought they tasted weird as well. The cheese was not even the same texture as mozzarella. We talked to the server and had her take them back and my daughter said she didn’t want any other food. Although the other plates of food weren’t good, we didn’t complain about the other stuff. Just the mozzarella sticks. When the bill came, the mozzarella sticks were on the check. We brought it to the attention of the server and she said she was told she could not take it off bc “it was not their fault that she didn’t like them”. We told her it didn’t even taste like mozzarella cheese was used and none of us liked them. She said she would get her boss to come talk to us and he ended up sending a bartender over to talk to us instead. She eventually came back and said we still had to pay for half of the cost of the mozzarella sticks. I have never been to an establishment where I had to pay for food that I sent back and they tell me it isn’t their fault the food is bad. Whose fault is it exactly? Especially when the entire table had the same opinion. I’ve actually never had anything bad to say about this place until now. I hate it because I really did like the place. Unfortunately they have ruined it for me and I won’t be returning…. Not because of the “off” night in cooking but because of how they chose to...
Read moreThis place has to be one of the best restaurants in the area, also reminds me of the Italian restaurants from back home in New York, but last night was a total mess it took forever to be seated (which was perfectly fine the food is worth the wait) once we were seated it took forever for the waitress to come and take our order for beverages. I ordered two appetizers the fried Raviolis and HOT caprese queso dip. The fried raviolis were good the queso dip wasn’t hot and took forever to get so it probably was just sitting there the waitress was so inattentive could careless about the service she was giving us, our lasagnas finally come out we don’t have any silverware, I tell the young lady (tall blonde beautiful with a nasty attitude) that brought our food out she says “ your waitress is coming” with just the nastiest tone and that was the icing on the cake my husband was livid, what she should of said was “I apologize for that I’ll get you all some silverware right away” or something to that nature. Then we still waited forever to get our silverware. My husband asked for the check and that we were only going to pay for the drinks and the appetizers we never even touched the lasagna they end up telling us to have a good night we didn’t have to pay I also would of liked for a manager to come and speak to us that never happened. For what I think is an upscale-ish kind of restaurant maybe have more prestigious waitress the young I don’t care attitude doesn’t fit the atmosphere of this restaurant I’m not sure if they were judging us based on our sweatpants tshirts and hoodies or whatever but my husband just got off the road I wanted to treat him to a nice meal, and I’m always ready to tip well for great service so young lady I think her name was Brittany (there wasn’t much interaction so I can’t remember) you missed out on a nice tip. Not sure if we’ll go back but if we do I refuse to have that waitress serve us. We’ve been here several times and have had wonderful service. Just...
Read moreI'd first off like to say that my first visit, which was a to go order, a few weeks ago was absolutely delicious. I got the fettuccine Alfredo add steak, which was seven extra dollars. I got 4 or 5 buttery circular cutlets of steak. They were thick but very tender.
When I returned today, I received maybe 4 or 5 little slices of steak that were a completely different type of steak and taste. I returned to ask them for the original pasta and meat that I received a few weeks ago, and then waited another 20 min for them to return the food almost the exact same, with maybe two more slices of steak. The steak today had tons of muscle in it. It wasn't tender and it didn't taste the same.
I called in and spoke to a manager, her name was Kayla, she mentioned that whoever cooked my food the last time I was there did it wrong and either gave me too much steak or the wrong kind of steak. I find that to be completely unprofessional and inconsistent, especially when the whole reason went back, there was for that exact meal. I'm not sure how it cook can't mess up that badly that you have a completely different steak and portion size for the exact same meal. I also ordered the breadsticks, which was OK. The breadsticks were definitely different than normal, they had some fluff and air, which was a nice different touch.
My advice is to definitely stay consistent with meals, and also the first steak that I had was a lot better than the second steak that I had, and they should probably go back to the first thing that I tried.
I wish I would have enjoyed my meql today. Happy...
