I’m from Queens, NY. Home to many different Caribbean countries, but their take on Jerk Chicken, Rice & Pea, Steamed veg and Plantain was HORRIBLE. Most Caribbean places use long grain rice and pigeon peas but this place didn’t. They used par boiled rice and kidney beans. The rice was very sour which was unpleasant. I was there a few minutes before they opened but the smell told me someone was definitely in the kitchen. I knocked on the door 🤣. The chef opened the door and was kind enough to accommodate my early intrusion. I asked him to serve me up whatever he was cooking and was graced with the best jerk chicken wings, rice and cabbage I've had in years. I had to get some Jamaican soda to wash this down 🔥. Compliments to the chef. I'll definitely be going...
