Cafe Davina — Restaurant in Suffolk

I typically don’t leave negative reviews, but my experience at this cafe was deeply disappointing. The food was good, and the servers were friendly, but unfortunately, the owner’s behavior completely overshadowed the visit.

My friends, our toddlers, and I went to this cafe to enjoy some time together. We were taking casual photos with our iPhones, dressed in workout clothes, just trying to capture a few moments of our toddlers enjoying the treehouse. The owner came out and immediately became aggressive and disrespectful, accusing us of using the space for a photoshoot and insisting that we couldn’t take photos, despite there being no signage indicating any restrictions.

She claimed we hadn’t bought anything, even though we had all spent over $20 each and tipped generously. Her behavior was completely out of line, and it escalated quickly. She then accused our toddlers (who are each around 25 pounds) of "shaking the tree," claiming she had been watching us from the kitchen. Our kids were simply enjoying themselves in the treehouse, which is designed for kids to play and explore, so of course, they were running around. We had been in the treehouse for about 30 minutes, trying to get a few pictures, but apparently, this was an issue for her.

To make matters worse, she insisted that we would need to pay a professional photographer they had on-site if we wanted to take photos. There was no prior notice or policy about this, and it felt completely unreasonable. When we went back in to speak with her, she continued to be rude and dismissive, eventually walking away when she realized she was in the wrong.

It’s unfortunate because the food and service were great, but I cannot support a business where the owner treats customers with such disrespect. I won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend this place based on...

This place is ROCKING with European vibes. The big old mansion is just splendid. As you turn in the drive, there are big old Magnolia trees on the right and behind that is a grape arbor with an inviting bench. The house is on the left with a grand entrance. As you proceed, there is a parking lot, In this area, you find the check in, the cafe and seating, and a little seating area with a beautiful fountain. There are plenty of coffee and tea options on the menu. There is also decadent crepes and today I found freshly baked scones. All the ordering is done outside at the cafe cart. You can eat outside at the bistro tables, set with beautiful fresh flowers or you can take a tray inside to enjoy your food at one of the many seating areas also decorated with fresh flowers. The house is decorated beautifully. The sun porch houses a beautifully comfy couch and ALL the sunshine you could hope for. There is even a patio out back with greenspan for kids to run around while the adults sip their drinks. The coffee barista was so sweet and fun. She explained everything so well. Everything was so perfectly perfect. I felt as though I was on the continent enjoying a lazy spring day!!!!! This beautiful place also doubles as a wedding venue. The opulence is worth the trip. Breakfast was at @cafe_davina! I have never enjoyed coffee or a coffee style drink at all. This, this I actually enjoyed! The last picture is proof I drank it. 😂

For the first time ever in my life, I enjoyed and drank all of a coffee type drink. You could taste all of the flavors in it. The panini was so good! It was light and refreshing. The bread was tasty. I loved the aioli with the dijon mustard. The crêpe was perfect. It had a great texture and everything paired with it was a perfect match. It all made me happy.
