This place was great! Also, having outdoor seating as an option right now, was great. — — — Made a random visit here after getting a chiropractic adjustment in the area. Never been in this area or this place. Looked around for nearby sushi and found this gem. First of all, the lady that was my server was amazing and so sweet. An older lady. Very kind and accommodating. She took notice to my pregnant belly and suggested menu substitutes to accommodate the growing baby. Also automatically brought out low sodium soy sauce which I don’t know if that is their norm or if she did that to accommodate my pregnancy, but I liked that aspect. I ended up getting the Bento Box which usually comes with 5 pieces of sashimi sushi but she subbed them out (no extra charge) for a modified Rock N’ Roll (modification was adding veggies inside the roll). She gave great, fast service and talked to me about my baby. — — — The Bento Box Boy was I SHOCKED by the amount of food!! miso soup starter: great, simple, hot. seaweed salad: SO GOOD! Had a slight spice to it. salad: tomato, lettuce, & cabbage with some white creamy dressing. Really good. Cleaned the bowl. steamed rice: good and simple. orange slices: tasted great & fresh. tempura shrimp & veggies w dipping sauce: great! Modified Rock N’ Roll: Made me do the happy dance in my seat. Such a simple roll but it was just soooo good. I did ask for sriracha and spicy mayo to top it. Was great! — — — It was SO MUCH FOOD. But it was all delish!! And tasted so fresh. And all for the price of $15.64! I will...
Read moreThis spot has slowly become the family's Sushi go-to in Sugar Land. It's close to home, the food is always fresh and consistent, Wait Staff is very friendly and accommodating and most importantly, the kiddos like it! We used to always go to Keeper's, but ever since we found this little gem, we've been eating here more often. We still eat at Keeper's, on the opposite end of the Strip, but it's not automatic like before. This small, quaint spot is always busy but there's never a wait. The longest we've ever waited was maybe 10 min. There's no more than 25 tables at most including the Bar. I like that because everyone gets friendly, attentive service from the staff. There's no getting weeded here because there's always more than enough Servers. The restaurant is always clean, they pre-bus very well and the atmosphere is kid friendly... as for Parking, plenty! If you're in the area I'd definitely give it a go if you're a Sushi lover. The only reason I gave 4☆'s is because of the Baked Mussels. They're good but they're served whole and not chopped like the other spots we dine at. I guess it's just me being picky but I prefer them that way over whole all day long. Anyways, it's not a deal breaker. We'll continue to dine here and encourage everyone else...
Read moreMy husband loves this place! In Sugarland, this place is one of the better ones for sushi, but not the noodle dishes.
Food: The sushi is fresh! I love the hand rolls, especially the spicy salmon and spicy tuna! I've ordered their combo A and B in the past. The combos are good options for the specialty rolls. Favorite sushi rolls - spicy salmon, spicy tuna, scallop roll, rainbow. The bento boxes during lunch time are extremely filling and you get a good variety as well. It comes with tempura, california roll, rice, salad, soup, and your main dish. I'm a huge fan of udon, so I tried their nabeyaki udon. I was not impressed. It was the first and last time I'll ever have that here. It was not authentic and lacking in flavor. For some reason, there were carrots and broccoli in the noodle soup....quite unusual! What they lack in the noodle dishes, they make up for in their sushi dishes.
Price: Excellent price on sushi. The price is better than Keeper's, which is down the block.
Customer service: The staff are friendly but they seem rather rushed at times.
Tips: Expect a 15 minute wait if you come on a Friday night or weekend during dinner...they get quite busy
OVERALL: Yes to the sushi & Bento boxes, BUT no to...
